Chapter 13: The Wedding Preparations
Part 13
Three months felt like a flash and a forever at the same time, but Usagi and Rei were determined to make every moment count as they dove headfirst into planning their wedding. Enthusiasm crackled through the air, making it feel lighter, brighter, as they gathered with their friends and family around the warm kitchen table where their engagement celebration had come to life. "Okay, everyone, let's get down to business!" Usagi announced, her eyes twinkling with excitement. "We need to figure out the biggest details first!" Rei nodded, taking a sip of the hot cocoa Chibiusa had prepared for everyone. "I think we should start with the officiant. What do you think about Ash Ketchum?" A chorus of nods and murmurs of agreement filled the room. Naru chimed in enthusiastically, "He’s perfect! Plus, he’s great with kids, which is important for Chibiusa’s flower girl duties." Chibiusa’s face lit up at the mention of her role. "I can’t wait to throw the flowers!" With laughter echoing around the cozy room, Usagi continued, "Okay! So with Ash, we can have Serena Yvonne help with the planning too. She has such a great eye for these things!" Minako grinned. "Bridesmaids? How about we include all of us?" "Absolutely!" Usagi replied, her heart swelling with joy at the thought of having her closest friends by her side. "And how about Naru and Ikuko, my mom? It’ll mean a lot to me to have her there." "I’ll talk to Ms. Tsukino to see if she’s interested!" Naru said nodding energetically. Rei gazed fondly at Usagi, watching her happiness ignite the room. "For the groomsmen, how about Mario and Luigi? They're a fun duo, and my grandpa can join us as a guest too." "That’s a fantastic idea!" Makoto added, grinning from ear to ear. “They’ll add a unique twist to the wedding!” Everything felt right as they sketched out names and roles onto one of Usagi's colorful notepads. The kitchen was bustling, filled with laughter and a few playful disagreements about the dress colors—Usagi was adamant about pastels, while Minako was leaning for bold jewel tones. "Okay, moving on to decor! What kind of theme do we want?" Usagi interjected, tapping the pen against the pad with eager anticipation. "How about a winter wonderland?" Chibiusa suggested, her eyes wide with excitement. "I love that idea! Just like when we first shared our moment under the stars!" Usagi exclaimed. "Picture it: delicate snowflakes, fairy lights, and plenty of lush greenery to add that warm touch against all the white, " Makoto added followed by a slight chuckle, "And plenty of warm beverages to thaw us out!" Rei grinned, thinking about the proposed theme. "And we could have a beautiful archway with white flowers and icicles! Just imagine how stunning the photos will be!" "Let's not forget about the venue!" Ami suggested, chiming in with her signature planning enthusiasm. "We should ideally find somewhere that can accommodate all our friends and family." "How about that beautiful garden on the edge of the snowy park?" Naru chimed in, her eyes shining as she recalled how magical it looked in winter. "That’s perfect! We might be able to incorporate some outdoor elements if it’s not too cold," Rei agreed, her mind already racing with possibilities. With every idea thrown on the table, the energy in the room buzzed like electricity, each heartbeat intertwining their shared anticipation. They spent the next few hours surrounded by swirls of laughter and fluttering ideas—floral arrangements, guest lists, and music flowing seamlessly as they captured every detail that began to color in their wedding day. As shadows stretched over the kitchen counter, the reality of their upcoming wedding settled lovingly in their hearts—a celebration of love surrounded by friends and family, the promise of a journey together just beginning.
