"Confinement and Uncertainty"
Part 98
As the darkness receded, I found myself back in a more recognizable form, albeit still confined. Mr. Compress had released us from the metallic ball, but our freedom was short-lived. Bakugo and I were now bound by thick ropes, our wrists and ankles tied tightly behind our backs. I looked up at Mr. Compress, my eyes wide with fear. "W-why do you want us?" I stuttered, trying to keep my voice steady. Mr. Compress chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Ah, that's a question for the boss, not me," he said, his voice dripping with a casual indifference. "I'm just a humble servant, tasked with... acquiring new guests for our collection." I exchanged a worried glance with Bakugo, who was also looking scared. We were at the mercy of these villains, and it seemed like they had no intention of letting us go. "But... but what do you plan to do with us?" I asked, trying to keep my voice from shaking. Mr. Compress just shrugged. "Like I said, that's for the boss to decide. I'm just here to make sure you're... comfortable, for now." He turned to leave, but not before I caught a glimpse of a figure standing in the shadows, watching us. The figure stepped forward, and I saw that it was Tomura Shigaraki, the leader of the League of Villains. "Ah, Mr. Compress," Tomura said, his voice low and menacing. "I see you've acquired our new guests. Make sure they're... entertained, while I prepare for our next meeting." Mr. Compress bowed, a mocking glint in his eye. "Of course, boss. I'll make sure they're... comfortable." As Tomura turned to leave, I called out to him, "H-hey! What do you plan to do with us?" Tomura's gaze flicked back to us, and for a moment, I saw a flash of something in his eyes... a spark of excitement, perhaps, or anticipation. But it was quickly extinguished, replaced by his usual cold, calculating expression. "You'll find out soon enough," he said, before turning and disappearing into the shadows. I was left staring at Mr. Compress, who was now watching me with an unsettling smile. "Don't worry," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "You'll have plenty of time to think about it."
