Part 7

Religious sat on the plush couch in the grand living room of King's mansion, surrounded by opulent decorations and lavish furnishings. The warm glow of the chandelier above cast a golden light on her face, and the soft hum of the air conditioner provided a gentle background noise. It had been a few days since she had accepted King's proposal, and she was still trying to adjust to her new life. As she sipped her coffee, she heard a noise behind her. She turned to see King walking towards her, a look of concern on his face. His piercing blue eyes seemed to bore into her soul, and his chiseled features were a testament to his wealth and power. "Good morning, Religious," he said, his voice low and soothing. "I hope you're doing well. You look a bit lost today." Religious smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards King. He had been kind to her, and she was starting to feel more at ease in her new surroundings. She gestured to the coffee cup in her hand, and King sat down beside her, taking a sip of his own coffee. "I'm just a bit overwhelmed, I think," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Everything is so new and different." King nodded, his eyes understanding. "I know it can be a bit much to take in," he said. "But you're doing great. You're adjusting well to your new life here." Just then, the doorbell rang. King got up to answer it, and Religious heard the sound of voices in the hallway. She wondered who it was, and what they wanted. The door to the living room opened, and a woman walked in. She was tall and slender, with long blonde hair and piercing green eyes. Her gaze was cold and calculating, and Religious felt a shiver run down her spine. "Victoria, what are you doing here?" King asked, his voice firm. Victoria smiled, her eyes flashing with anger. "I just wanted to drop by and meet the new wife," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "I've heard so much about her." Religious felt a sense of unease as Victoria's eyes landed on her. There was something about the woman that didn't seem right. Her presence seemed to fill the room with tension, and Religious could sense the animosity between her and King. Victoria walked towards Religious, her eyes never leaving hers. "So, you're the one who managed to capture King's heart," she said, her voice dripping with venom. "I must say, I'm a bit surprised. You're not exactly the type I would have pegged him for." Religious felt a surge of anger at Victoria's tone, but she kept her cool. She wasn't going to let Victoria get to her. King seemed to sense the tension, and he stepped in, his arm around Religious's shoulders. "Victoria, that's enough," he said, his voice firm. "I think it's time for you to leave." Victoria's face fell, but she didn't seem to take the hint. Instead, she walked closer to Religious, her eyes flashing with anger. "You're just a temporary distraction, Religious," she whispered. "King will get tired of you soon enough, and when he does, I'll be waiting." Religious felt a chill run down her spine as Victoria turned and walked out of the room. She turned to King, who was watching her with a concerned expression. "Who is she?" Religious asked, her voice barely above a whisper. King's face darkened, and he sat down beside her. "She's my ex-wife," he said. "We had a bit of a messy divorce. She's not a very nice person." Religious nodded, feeling a sense of unease. She had a feeling that Victoria was going to be a problem. As the day went on, Religious couldn't shake off the feeling that Victoria was watching her, waiting for her chance to strike. She knew that she had to be careful, but she couldn't help feeling that King's ex-wife was a threat to their marriage. That evening, King took Religious to a formal dinner at his estate, where she was introduced to his staff and friends. As they walked through the grand halls, Religious couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the opulence and luxury that surrounded her. But just as she was starting to relax, she saw Sally and Victoria standing across the room, their eyes fixed on her with a mixture of anger and resentment. Religious felt a shiver run down her spine as she realized that she had enemies in the palace, and that she would have to be careful to navigate the complex web of alliances and rivalries that existed there. As the dinner drew to a close, King took Religious's hand and led her out of the ballroom, into the cool night air. They walked through the gardens, the sound of music and laughter fading into the distance. "I'm sorry about Victoria," King said, his voice low and soothing. "I know she can be a bit...difficult." Religious smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards King. "It's okay," she said. "I can handle her." King nodded, his eyes understanding. "I know you can," he said. "You're a strong woman, Religious. And I'm glad to have you by my side." As they walked, Religious felt a sense of peace wash over her. She knew that she had made the right decision in marrying King, and she was determined to make their marriage work, no matter what challenges lay ahead. But little did she know, Victoria was not going to give up easily. She had a plan, and it was going to involve Religious, King, and Sally, the woman who had once been Religious's best friend. The game was on, and Religious was about to find herself in the middle of a battle she never saw coming. With King by her side she was ready for anything that came their way. Religious was also thinking about what had happened earlier and was worried that she had gotten herself into. Religious got a hold on her emotions as she was a queen now. She had no room for drama in her life. Religious made up her mind to stay focused on her new life.
