"Correctin' Behavior"

"Aww shucks, Jaime, I gotta say, I'm a might disappointed in ya," Papa said, his southern drawl thick and rich as he sat Jaime down on the couch beside him. Jaime looked up at Papa, his eyes wide with a mix of fear and defiance. "Y'see, son, I know Daddy may have overreacted a mite, but that don't mean you get to act out and disrespect him," Papa continued, his expression stern but fair. Jaime shifted uncomfortably on the couch, realizing he was in for a lecture. Now, I've been thinkin' a lot about this, and I gotta say, I think Daddy was right to take a firm hand with ya," Papa said, his voice low and even. "You can't just run wild and do as you please, Jaime. That's not how we raise our children around here." Jaime's eyes dropped, and he muttered under his breath, "I don't like gettin' spanked." Papa's expression softened, but only for a moment. "I know, son, but sometimes a good spankin' is just what we need to get back on track," Papa said, his voice firm but gentle. "And as for me, well... let's just say I've got a few tricks up my sleeve when it comes to discipline, too." Jaime's eyes widened, and he looked up at Papa in surprise. "You mean... you're into that kind of thing too?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. Papa nodded, a small smile playin' on his lips. "Yes, son, I am. And I think it's high time we had a talk about boundaries and respectin' authority." Daddy, who had been quiet until now, spoke up, "I'm glad we're on the same page, Papa. Jaime needs to learn to behave and respect his elders." Papa nodded in agreement, "That's right, son. And I'm afraid that means no more gettin' away with bein' bad. We'll be workin' on findin' ways to channel that energy of yours into somethin' more productive." Jaime felt a shiver run down his spine as he realized he was in for a whole lot more than just a simple talk. Papa and Daddy were fixin' to take him in hand, and he wasn't sure if he was ready for what was comin'. But as he looked up at them, he saw somethin' in their eyes that made him feel a spark of excitement, a thrill of anticipation. Maybe, just maybe, this was gonna be okay after all.
