"A Life of Indebted Obligation"

Part 5

Shizuo's phone rang, and he groaned as he saw the landlord's name on the screen. He answered, trying to negotiate, but it was too late. The landlord had already made up his mind. "Hi Shizuo, this is your landlord. I'm afraid I've decided to fully evict you, effective immediately," the landlord said, his voice firm but slightly apologetic. Shizuo's eyes widened in anger as he realized he was being kicked out of his apartment. "What? You can't do that! I'll pay the rent, I swear!" he exclaimed, but the landlord just chuckled. "Sorry, Shizuo. I've had enough of your promises. You need to vacate the premises today," the landlord said before hanging up. Shizuo's face twisted in a scowl as he realized his situation had just gotten worse. He was about to call a friend to see if he could crash at their place when he heard a smooth voice behind him. "Well, well, well. Looks like you're having a bit of a rough day, Shizuo," Osamu Dazai said, a smirk spreading across his face. Shizuo turned to see Dazai leaning against a nearby pillar, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "What do you want, Dazai?" Shizuo growled, still fuming from the phone call. "Oh, I think I can help you with your... housing situation," Dazai said, his voice dripping with flirtation. "You see, I have a lovely hotel room with your name on it. You can stay there, and I won't even charge you rent." Shizuo's eyes narrowed. "I don't need your help," he spat, trying to maintain his dignity. Dazai chuckled, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Oh, come on, Shizuo. You can't stay on the streets. And I have a feeling you're not exactly swimming in options right now," he said, his voice low and husky. Shizuo's face burned with anger and embarrassment. "I don't need your charity," he snarled. Dazai took a step closer, his eyes locked onto Shizuo's. "It's not charity, Shizuo. It's a business proposition. You see, I think we can help each other out. You can stay at my hotel, and in return... well, we can discuss the details later," he said, his voice dripping with innuendo. Shizuo's eyes widened in outrage. "You think I'm some kind of prostitute?" he exclaimed, his voice rising. Dazai chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Oh, Shizuo. You're so quick to assume the worst. I'm just offering you a place to stay. And maybe a little... extra income on the side," he said, his voice low and flirtatious. Shizuo's face twisted in disgust. "I don't think so," he spat, trying to walk away. But Dazai was too quick, and he caught Shizuo's arm, his grip firm. "Oh, I think you will, Shizuo. You will," he said, his eyes glinting with determination.
