"A Sudden Change in Plans"

Part 11

Ashley woke up feeling a bit off, but she couldn't quite put her finger on what it was. She had been experiencing some minor morning sickness, but it had been manageable so far. As she got out of bed and started her day, she felt a bit more energized than she had in weeks. She made herself a cup of coffee and headed to the bathroom to brush her teeth. As she was brushing her teeth, Ashley noticed a strange sensation in her abdomen. It felt like a slight cramp, but it was hard to describe. She shrugged it off, thinking it was just a minor side effect of the pregnancy. But as she turned to wash her face, she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror and noticed that she was bleeding. At first, she thought it was just a small amount of blood, but as she looked closer, she realized that it was a lot more than that. Ashley's heart started racing as she quickly grabbed a towel to assess the situation. She was having a large amount of blood flow, and she didn't know what to do. Panic started to set in as she quickly washed her face and tried to calm herself down. She took a few deep breaths and tried to think clearly. She was 9 weeks pregnant, and she had been feeling fine up until now. She quickly got dressed and made her way to the living room, where Travis was still sleeping on the couch. "Travis, wake up," she said, trying to keep her voice calm. Travis groggily opened his eyes and sat up, rubbing his face. "What's wrong?" he asked, noticing the look of panic on Ashley's face. "I'm bleeding," Ashley said, trying to keep her voice steady. Travis immediately sat up straight and looked at her with concern. "How much?" he asked, already getting up from the couch. Ashley hesitated, not wanting to exaggerate the situation. "A lot," she said finally. Travis quickly grabbed his phone and dialed 911. "We need to go to the hospital, now," he said, his voice firm. Ashley nodded, feeling a sense of unease wash over her. She had been feeling so fine up until now, and she had no idea what was happening. As they waited for the ambulance to arrive, Ashley couldn't help but think about all the things that could be wrong. Was the baby okay? Was she going to be okay? She looked over at Travis, who was trying to stay calm for her sake. She knew that he was worried, but he was trying to be strong for her. The sound of the ambulance sirens grew louder, and Ashley felt a sense of relief wash over her. They were going to be okay. They were going to get help, and everything was going to be fine. But as they rushed out of the house and into the ambulance, Ashley couldn't shake the feeling that her life was about to change in ways she never could have imagined.
