A Fragile Moment
Part 8
Jimin's eyes welled up with tears, and he tried to hold them back, but it was no use. He felt overwhelmed by the weight of his guilt and the memories of that fateful night. His body began to shake, and he tried to speak, but his voice cracked. Julie's grip on his hand tightened as she saw the tears streaming down his face. Without hesitation, Julie pulled him into a hug, awkwardly from her position on the bed, but she didn't care. She just wanted to comfort him, to let him know that everything was going to be okay. Her arms wrapped around him, holding him close as he broke down. "It's okay, Jimin," she whispered, her voice soft and soothing. "I'm here. I'm still here." Jimin's body convulsed with sobs, and he buried his face in Julie's shoulder, feeling a mix of relief and shame. He had been carrying this burden for so long, and it was finally starting to lift. Julie held him close, stroking his hair and back, trying to calm him down. "I'm still alive," she said, her voice filled with conviction. "And it's all because you acted quickly. You saved me, Jimin. You and Yoongi, you guys did everything you could to help me." Hobi watched the scene unfold, his eyes filled with compassion. He knew that Jimin had been struggling with guilt and PTSD, and it was about time he let it all out. He sat down on the other side of Julie, his hand on her shoulder, offering silent support. As Jimin cried, Julie whispered words of reassurance, trying to drive home the fact that it wasn't his fault. She knew that he had been replaying that night over and over in his head, wondering what he could have done differently. But the truth was, he had done everything he could, and she was grateful for that. Slowly but surely, Jimin's sobs began to subside, replaced by ragged breaths. He pulled back, his eyes red-rimmed and puffy, but a small smile on his face. "I'm sorry," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. Julie smiled back, her eyes shining with tears. "You don't have to be sorry, Jimin," she said. "You just have to be here, with me." The three of them sat there in silence for a moment, the only sound the soft beeping of the hospital machines. But in that moment, they all knew that everything was going to be okay.
