**A Diagnosis of Deceit**
Part 2
As Julian began to examine him, Miles couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He had always been a private person, and the thought of being poked and prodded by his friend was making him uncomfortable. Julian, on the other hand, was in his element. He was a master of his craft, and he knew exactly what to look for. "Miles, I need you to tell me what's going on," Julian said, his eyes scanning Miles' chart. "You've been experiencing fatigue, dizziness, and stomach problems. What have you been doing differently lately?" Miles shrugged, trying to think of something to say. He hadn't been doing anything out of the ordinary, or so he thought. But then he remembered the strange encounter he had a few days ago. He had been working late in the engineering department, trying to fix a faulty warp coil. As he was leaving, he had stumbled upon a strange, glowing object lying on the floor. He had picked it up, feeling an unusual energy emanating from it. And then...nothing. "I don't know, Julian," Miles said, shaking his head. "I've just been feeling really off lately." Julian nodded, his eyes narrowing. "I see. Well, let's take a look at your vitals." He began to take Miles' blood pressure, checking his pulse, and examining his eyes. As Julian worked, Miles couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation. He had a feeling that Julian was going to find something, and he wasn't sure if he was ready for that. After what felt like an eternity, Julian finally finished his examination. He sat back, a look of concern etched on his face. "Miles, I think I know what's going on," he said slowly. Miles' heart sank. "What is it?" Julian hesitated before speaking. "I think you've been exposed to some kind of...energy field. It's affecting your body, causing the symptoms you've been experiencing." Miles' eyes widened. "An energy field? What do you mean?" Julian leaned forward, his voice low. "I think it's connected to that strange object you found in engineering. Whatever it is, it's not from around here. And I think it's been...altering you." Miles felt a chill run down his spine. Altering him? What did that mean? He thought back to the object, remembering the strange sensation he had felt when he picked it up. It was as if...as if it had been calling to him. "Miles, I need to run some more tests," Julian said, his eyes locked on Miles'. "But I have a feeling that this is more than just a simple exposure. I think you're in grave danger." Miles felt a sense of panic rising up inside him. Grave danger? What was happening to him? And what was this object that had set it all in motion? As Julian began to prepare for more tests, Miles couldn't help but wonder what lay ahead. Was he going to be okay? And what secrets was this mysterious object hiding? Only time would tell.
