**Chapter 10: A Night to Remember**

Part 10

The music and chatter of the poker game faded into the background as Maya and Beck's lips continued to dance, their passion igniting a fire that seemed to spread throughout the room. Tori, noticing the intensity of the moment, discreetly ushered the others into the kitchen, giving the couple some much-needed space. As they sat on the couch, Beck's hands roamed freely, sending shivers down Maya's spine. She could feel the heat emanating from his body, and her own desire grew with every passing second. The room around them melted away, leaving only the two of them, lost in the moment. Just as it seemed like things couldn't get any more intense, Beck's phone suddenly buzzed on the coffee table. The interruption was jarring, and Maya felt a pang of disappointment as Beck reluctantly pulled away from her. He glanced at the screen, his eyes narrowing as he saw the name flashing on the display. "I'm so sorry, I need to take this," he said, his voice low and husky. Maya nodded, trying to compose herself as Beck answered the call. His conversation was brief, but his tone was serious, and Maya could sense a change in his demeanor. When he finally hung up, he turned to her, his eyes filled with a mixture of concern and apology. "I'm so sorry, Maya. I have to go." Maya's heart sank, and she felt a pang of disappointment. She had been so caught up in the moment, and now it seemed like reality was crashing down around them. "What is it?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady. Beck took a deep breath before answering. "It's my brother, Ethan. He's in trouble, and I need to go take care of something." Maya's curiosity was piqued, but she could see the worry etched on Beck's face. She nodded, trying to be understanding. "Okay, I'll go with you," she said, already standing up. Beck hesitated for a moment before nodding. "I don't know if that's a good idea, Maya. This isn't exactly...safe." Maya raised an eyebrow, her heart racing with anticipation. "What do you mean?" Beck's eyes locked onto hers, and for a moment, Maya thought she saw a glimmer of something there, something that looked almost like fear. "Just trust me, okay? I'll take care of it. You stay here with Tori and the others. I'll be back soon." Maya nodded, but she could feel a sense of unease settling in. She didn't like the sound of this, and she couldn't shake the feeling that Beck was hiding something from her. As he turned to leave, she caught his arm, her eyes searching his. "What's going on, Beck?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Beck's eyes locked onto hers, and for a moment, Maya thought she saw something there, something that looked almost like a warning. "Just be patient, okay?" he said, his voice low and gentle. "I'll tell you everything soon. I promise." With that, he turned and walked out the door, leaving Maya feeling both confused and concerned. She watched him go, her heart heavy with a sense of foreboding. What was going on, and what did Beck's mysterious phone call have to do with his brother, Ethan? She couldn't shake the feeling that her life was about to change in ways she couldn't even imagine.
