"Protecting Our Precious Ones"
Part 9
I sank deeper into the warm, soothing waters of the birthing pool, my body relaxed and my mind at peace. The dragon eggs floated around me, their gentle glow illuminating the surrounding water. I closed my eyes, feeling the weight of my pregnancy lifting as I let my body recover from the ordeal of laying my eggs. Hange was nearby, his presence a comforting warmth that seeped into my bones. As I drifted off to sleep, I felt a sense of tranquility wash over me. The nest was quiet, the only sound the gentle lapping of the water against the sides of the birthing pool. But suddenly, I sensed a presence, a subtle disturbance in the air that alerted me to something amiss. My eyes snapped open, and I instinctively reached out with my senses, scanning the surrounding area. That's when I detected a sneaky, furtive presence, a Tom cat that had somehow managed to slip into the nest. My heart racing, I slowly turned my head, my eyes scanning the shadows. The Tom cat was crouched low to the ground, its eyes fixed on my dragon eggs with a malevolent glare. I could sense its intent, a cold, calculating desire to destroy my precious eggs. Enraged, I slammed my claws out, catching the Tom cat's paw in a vicious swipe. The Tom cat let out a startled yowl as I pinned its paw to the ground. I let out a loud, angry hiss, my fur standing on end as I arched my back. "How dare you try to kill my dragon eggs!" I spat, my voice low and menacing. The Tom cat trembled, its eyes wide with fear. But before it could try to escape, a deep, guttural growl rumbled from behind it. Hange was standing there, his massive body looming over the Tom cat like a dark, foreboding shadow. The Tom cat's face went pale with fear as Hange's aura washed over it, a powerful, dominating presence that seemed to crush the very air out of its lungs. I could feel Hange's anger, a hot, fierce blaze that threatened to incinerate the Tom cat. The Tom cat let out a terrified mew, its tail twitching wildly as it tried to scramble to safety. But Hange was too quick, his massive paw reaching out to snatch the Tom cat and hold it in a crushing grip. "You're not welcome here," Hange growled, his voice low and menacing. "Leave now, and don't ever come back." The Tom cat struggled and squirmed, but Hange's grip was too strong. With a final, defeated mew, the Tom cat turned and fled, abandoning its plans to destroy my precious dragon eggs. As the Tom cat disappeared into the darkness, Hange turned to me, his eyes gleaming with concern. "Are you okay, my princess?" he asked, his voice soft and gentle. I nodded, still feeling the adrenaline coursing through my veins. "I'm fine," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "But our eggs are safe, thanks to you." Hange smiled, his face relaxing into a warm, gentle smile. "Always," he said, his voice full of promise. "I'll always protect our precious ones."
