Aftermath of Emotion
Part 7
The weight of Commander Erwin's words hung in the air as we entered his office, but Levi and I exchanged a brief glance before turning our attention back to him. "So, you've successfully defeated the Titan," Commander Erwin said, a hint of a smile on his face. "But I sense that there's more to this story than just a simple victory." Levi cleared his throat, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Sir, I think we should discuss the details of the mission." Commander Erwin nodded, his expression turning serious. "Very well. But first, I want to know what's going on between the two of you." He leaned forward, his eyes boring into ours. "I've seen the way you look at each other, and I know that something happened out there." I felt my face heat up, but Levi spoke up before I could. "Sir, I don't think that's relevant to the mission." Commander Erwin raised an eyebrow. "Isn't it? You're both members of the Scout Regiment, and your actions, both on and off the battlefield, can have an impact on the team. Now, I'm not asking you to reveal any classified information, but I do need to know if there's something going on that could affect your performance." The room fell silent, the tension between us palpable. Levi's eyes flicked to mine, and I could see the unspoken question there. What were we going to do? I took a deep breath and spoke up, my voice barely above a whisper. "Sir, I think we need to talk about it." Commander Erwin nodded, a small smile on his face. "Very well. Let's get to the bottom of this." Levi's eyes locked onto mine, and I could see the emotions swirling there. He took a step closer to me, his voice low and rough. "Eren, I...I don't know what happened back there." I felt my heart skip a beat as I met his gaze. "You mean, during the battle?" Levi nodded, his eyes never leaving mine. "Yes. When we...when we kissed." The air seemed to vibrate with tension as we stood there, the weight of Levi's words hanging in the air. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, my senses heightened as I waited for his response. "I don't know what it means," Levi continued, his voice barely above a whisper. "But I do know that I couldn't help myself. I had to kiss you." I took a step closer to him, my voice trembling. "I wanted you to," I said, my eyes locked onto his. The room seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of us, standing there, our hearts beating as one. Commander Erwin's voice cut through the silence, but it was distant, a muffled sound that barely registered. "Levi, Eren, I think we've made progress here. But I also think that you both need to take some time to think about what this means, not just for yourselves, but for the team as well." Levi's eyes never left mine, his gaze burning with intensity. "Yes, sir," he said, his voice low and rough. I nodded, still trying to process the emotions swirling inside me. As we stood there, the tension between us palpable, I knew that nothing would ever be the same again.
