**Midnight Masquerade**

Part 4

As we mingled with the gala attendees, the 'Starlight Serenade' necklace safely tucked away, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. The heist had gone off without a hitch, and we'd already made a sizeable profit from the sale of the stolen goods on the black market. But I knew that this was only the beginning. Our next mark was already in our sights – the priceless 'La Reine's Jewels' collection, currently on loan to the Louvre. Daisuke's eyes sparkled with mischief as he sipped his champagne, his gaze scanning the room for potential security threats. I followed his lead, my trained eyes picking out the telltale signs of a plainclothes guard. We'd need to be careful; the Louvre's security was notoriously tight. Zero Cool's voice crackled over the comms link once more, her tone laced with a hint of excitement. "Arsène, I've got some intel on the collection's display schedule. The curator's planning a private viewing for a select group of collectors tomorrow night. I can get you on the guest list, but you'll need to move fast." I nodded, a plan already forming in my mind. "Make it happen, Zero. Daisuke, we need to get to work on our disguises. We're going to need to blend in with the high rollers if we're going to get close to the collection." We excused ourselves from the party, making our way back to the motorcycle. The Parisian night air was alive with the sound of laughter and music, the city's underbelly pulsing with energy. As we sped through the streets, Daisuke tossed me a small package. "I picked this up from a contact earlier. It's a few things we might need for the next job." I unwrapped the package, revealing a set of designer suits, a pair of wigs, and a collection of high-end accessories. "Looks like we're going to be living large tomorrow night," I said, grinning. Daisuke chuckled. "We're going to be princes of the night, Arsène. And no one's going to suspect a thing." The next evening, we arrived at the Louvre, dressed to the nines in our borrowed finery. I adjusted my tie, feeling like a completely different person beneath the guise of a wealthy collector. Daisuke, resplendent in a tailored tuxedo, flashed me a confident smile. As we entered the private viewing, I spotted the curator, a flamboyant man with a wild look in his eye, holding court near the entrance. Zero Cool's plan had worked; we were on the guest list, and no one suspected a thing. The 'La Reine's Jewels' collection sparkled before us, a dazzling array of rubies, emeralds, and diamonds that seemed to dance in the light. I felt a thrill of excitement; this was what we'd been working towards. But as we edged closer to the display case, I caught sight of a familiar face across the room – a rival thief, known only by his handle, 'The Fox'. A spark of unease flared to life in my chest. The Fox was notorious for his ruthless tactics and his ability to always stay one step ahead of the game. If he was here, it meant he was after the same prize. The game had just gotten a lot more interesting.
