"Aftershocks"
Part 21
Hailey sat beside Jasmine, listening to her cries, her expression a mix of concern and guilt. She had never meant to hurt Jasmine so badly, but at the same time, she couldn't deny the thrill she got from dominating her. As she sat there, she reached out a hand, hesitantly, to comfort Jasmine, to try and ease her pain. But Jasmine was having none of it. As Hailey's hand touched her arm, Jasmine flinched, pulling away. "I hate you!" she spat, her eyes flashing with anger and hurt. Hailey was taken aback. She wasn't used to Jasmine pushing her away, and she certainly wasn't used to hearing those words from her lips. For a moment, she just stared at Jasmine, her face frozen in shock. Then, her expression darkened. Anger flared up inside her, and she reached out, pinning Jasmine down beneath her. Jasmine struggled, but Hailey was too strong, too quick. She held Jasmine in place, her eyes blazing with a fierce intensity. For a long moment, they just stared at each other, the only sound Jasmine's ragged breathing. Then, Hailey's grip relaxed, and she let go, rolling off Jasmine and sitting up. "I'm going to bed," she said, her voice cold, detached. She stood up, and walked away, leaving Jasmine lying there, alone and hurting. As Hailey disappeared into the darkness, Jasmine let out a sob, tears streaming down her face. She didn't know what to do, or how to process her feelings. She was scared, and hurt, and she didn't know if she could ever forgive Hailey for what she had just done. The room was silent, the only sound the creaking of the old house, and Jasmine's own ragged breathing. She lay there, feeling lost and alone, wondering if things would ever be okay again.
