**Chapter 8: A Spark in the Air**
Part 8
The next morning, Pamela woke up feeling like a different person. The memory of John's kiss still lingered on her lips, and she couldn't help but smile as she thought about the previous night's events. She felt a sense of excitement and anticipation, wondering what the future held for them. As she got out of bed, she noticed a text message on her phone from John. "Good morning, beautiful," it read. "I had an amazing time last night. Would love to see you again soon." Pamela's heart skipped a beat as she read the message. She quickly typed out a response, her fingers flying across the keyboard. "Good morning," she wrote. "I had an amazing time too. Can't wait to see you again." She hesitated for a moment before adding a smiley face emoji to the end of the message. As she got ready for work, Pamela couldn't help but feel a sense of giddy excitement. She had never felt this way about John before, and it was both thrilling and terrifying. She wondered if he felt the same way, or if she was just reading too much into the situation. The day flew by in a blur, with Pamela's mind constantly wandering back to John. She found herself checking her phone every few minutes, hoping to see a message from him. Finally, during her lunch break, she received a text. "Want to meet for coffee this afternoon?" it read. Pamela's heart skipped a beat as she typed out a response. "I'd love to," she wrote. They arranged to meet at a coffee shop near her office, and Pamela spent the rest of the afternoon counting down the minutes until their meeting. As she walked into the coffee shop, she spotted John sitting at a table by the window. He looked up and smiled, and Pamela's heart melted. She walked over to him, feeling a sense of nervousness. "Hey," he said, standing up to greet her. "You look stunning." Pamela blushed, feeling a flutter in her chest. They ordered their coffee and sat down, chatting easily about everything and nothing. Pamela felt like she was getting to know John on a deeper level, and she was starting to realize that there was so much more to him than she had ever noticed before. As they sipped their coffee, John reached across the table and took Pamela's hand. "I've been thinking," he said, his eyes locked on hers. "I was wondering if you'd like to join me for a weekend getaway. Just a quick trip to the beach, but it would be great to spend some quality time together." Pamela's heart skipped a beat as she considered the invitation. A weekend getaway with John? It sounded like the perfect opportunity to get to know him better and see where things might go between them. "I'd love to," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. John smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Great," he said. "I'll pick you up at 9 am on Saturday." Pamela nodded, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation. She had a feeling that this weekend was going to be one for the books.
