Chapter 3: A Night Under the Stars
Part 3
Enzo stormed out of his dorm, the cool night air hitting him like a slap in the face. He didn't know where he was going, he just knew he needed to get away from the argument he had with Kai. As he walked, the sound of footsteps behind him made him turn around. It was Kylie, his friend from childhood. Kylie had a concerned look on her face as she approached Enzo. "Hey, what's wrong?" she asked, her voice soft and gentle. Enzo tried to brush it off, not wanting to burden Kylie with his problems. "I'm fine, just needed some fresh air," he said, forcing a smile onto his face. Kylie didn't look convinced, but she didn't push the issue. Instead, she sat down on a bench next to Enzo, and they sat in silence, looking up at the night sky filled with burning stars. The stars twinkled like diamonds against the dark blue backdrop, and Enzo felt a sense of peace wash over him. Kylie noticed that Enzo seemed lost in thought and put a hand on his arm. "Hey, you sure you're okay?" she asked again, her voice laced with concern. Enzo sighed, feeling a lump form in his throat. He wanted to tell Kylie the truth, but he was scared of the consequences. He was scared of what Kai would do if he found out. "I'm fine, Kylie, really," he said, trying to reassure her. Kylie looked at him skeptically, but she didn't push the issue. They sat in silence for a while, enjoying the peacefulness of the night. As they sat there, Enzo couldn't help but think about how much Kylie had been there for him over the years. They had grown up together, and Kylie had been a constant source of comfort and support in his life. Enzo's thoughts drifted back to his childhood, to the day his parents had died in a tragic car accident. He was only 7 years old, and he had been devastated by the loss. The Blakes, Kylie's family, had taken him in and raised him as one of their own. Kylie had been his rock, his confidante, and his best friend. As they sat on the bench, Enzo felt a sense of gratitude towards Kylie. He knew he could always count on her, no matter what. "Thanks, Kylie," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. Kylie looked at him, her eyes shining with concern. "For what?" she asked. Enzo smiled, feeling a sense of comfort wash over him. "Just for being here," he said. Kylie smiled back, and they sat in silence for a while, enjoying the peacefulness of the night. Enzo knew that he would always be able to count on Kylie, no matter what lay ahead.
