**Chapter 1: The Unexpected Intrusion**

Part 1

Maya's morning routine was as monotonous as it was predictable. She shuffled through her apartment, her movements devoid of any enthusiasm or passion. Her thick, stoic demeanor had become a shield, protecting her from the world outside. She had mastered the art of indifference, and it served her well. As she poured herself a cup of coffee, her gaze wandered out the window, lost in thought. The city outside was alive and buzzing, but Maya's world was a quiet, isolated one. She had no problem with that; in fact, she preferred it that way. The sound of shattering glass cut through the air, and Maya's head snapped back to reality. She turned to see two men, their faces masked, standing in her living room. They were clearly not there to sell her a magazine or ask for directions. Victor, the taller of the two, sneered at her. "Don't make any sudden moves, sweetheart. We're just here for the valuables." Maya's expression remained unchanged. She didn't flinch or panic. Her eyes locked onto the men, her gaze calm and collected. Leo, the shorter one, moved to search the room, his eyes scanning for anything of value. "What's with the ice queen act?" he asked, his voice dripping with amusement. "Don't you care that we're in your apartment?" Maya shrugged, her shoulders barely rising off her massive frame. "I don't see the point in getting worked up." Victor's eyes narrowed. "Well, let's see how you react when we start looking in the bedrooms." Maya's indifference was about to be tested. She stood her ground, her eyes flashing with a hint of warning, but Victor and Leo were not deterred. They moved towards her, their movements deliberate and menacing. "Let's go," Victor growled, grabbing Maya's arm. Maya tried to pull away, but Victor's grip was like a vice. Leo moved to block her path, his eyes glinting with a mixture of excitement and cruelty. The game had changed, and Maya's indifference was about to be shattered.
