"A Sudden Illness"
Part 1
Din Djarin trudged through the corridors of Mos Eisley, his usually stoic demeanor ruffled by a growing sense of unease. He had been feeling off all day, ever since they'd received the bounty on a particularly notorious Trandoshan slaver. At first, he'd brushed it off as fatigue, but as the hours ticked by, his discomfort had only intensified. Grogu, sensing his distress, had been clinging to him, chirping and whimpering in concern. Din knew he needed help, and fast. He made his way to Hanger 3-5, hoping to find Peli Motto, the skilled mechanic and old acquaintance, who might be able to lend a hand. As he landed his ship, the Razorcrest, and stepped out into the dusty hangar, he was greeted by Peli herself, tinkering with a battered old engine. Peli looked up, her eyes narrowing as she took in Din's pale complexion and the faint sheen of sweat on his forehead. "Din, what's wrong?" she asked, concern etched on her face. Din hesitated, not wanting to admit his weakness. "I need you to watch Grogu for a little while," he said, trying to sound casual. "I've got some business to attend to." Peli raised an eyebrow. "What kind of business? You look like you're about to keel over." Din tried to brush it off, but Peli wasn't having it. "No, no, I'll be fine. Just watch the kid for me, okay?" Peli sighed, but nodded. "Alright, alright. But I'm not just going to leave you like this. You need help, Din." Din tried to protest, but his body had other plans. The nausea he'd been fighting all day suddenly surged up, and he felt his stomach lurch. He turned and ran back into the ship, desperate to make it to the bathroom before he lost control. Peli followed close behind, her eyes wide with worry. "Din, what's happening?" Din barely made it to the bathroom before he was overcome with a violent wave of nausea. He collapsed onto the toilet, his body shuddering with relief. Peli stormed into the bathroom, her face shocked. For a moment, she just stared, her eyes fixed on Din's exposed face. He was without his helmet, a breach of his creed, and Peli looked like she'd seen something she couldn't unsee. "Din, what...why is your helmet off?" she stammered. Din just shook his head, feeling a deep sense of embarrassment and vulnerability. He knew he'd broken his own rules, but he'd been too far gone to care. Now, he just wanted to be left alone. But Peli wasn't going anywhere. She approached him cautiously, her expression softening. "Din, we need to get you cleaned up and comfortable. And then we're going to figure out what's going on with you." Din looked up at her, feeling a mix of gratitude and mortification. He knew he was in Peli's debt, and that she wouldn't let him suffer in silence for long. But for now, he just sat there, feeling exposed and helpless, as Peli took charge of his care.
