Chapter 52: The Weight of Secrets
Part 51
Dabi's eyes sparkled with a hint of mischief as he leaned in closer, his voice barely audible. "The Flame of Destruction, the one they all fear and whisper about in hushed tones... it's not a person, but an organization," he said, his words dripping with an air of conspiracy. I felt a shiver run down my spine as I processed his words. "What is it?" I asked worriedly, my mind racing with the implications. Dabi's gaze locked onto mine, and for a moment, I felt like I was drowning in the depths of his eyes. "The Flame of Destruction is a group of powerful individuals who have been secretly manipulating world events for their own gain," he said, his voice low and serious. "They're the ones who have been pulling the strings from behind the scenes, and they're the ones who have Oslo in their sights." I felt a surge of fear mixed with adrenaline as I tried to wrap my head around Dabi's words. An organization that powerful and elusive? It sounded like something out of a nightmare. "How do you know this?" I asked, my voice shaking slightly. Dabi's smile was tinged with a hint of sadness. "I have my ways," he said, his eyes clouding over for a moment. "Let's just say that I've had... dealings with them in the past." I studied his face, trying to read between the lines. What had Dabi been involved in? And how had he managed to escape their clutches? "What do they want with Oslo?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. Dabi's expression turned grim. "Oslo has stumbled upon something he shouldn't have," he said, his voice low and urgent. "Something that could bring down the entire organization. They're going to stop at nothing to silence him." I felt a chill run down my spine as I realized the gravity of the situation. Oslo was in grave danger, and I was the only one who could help him. "What can I do?" I asked, my voice firm. Dabi's eyes locked onto mine, and for a moment, I felt like I saw a glimmer of hope. "I can help you get to Oslo," he said, his voice low and serious. "But you have to trust me. Can you do that?" I hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. But something about Dabi's words resonated deep within me. I had to trust him. I had to save Oslo. I nodded, my heart pounding in my chest. "I'll trust you," I said, my voice firm. Dabi's smile was a small, tight thing. "Good," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "Because we're running out of time."
