Chapter 84: A Distracted Student

Part 83

Eric sat in class, staring blankly at the chalkboard as his teacher droned on about the importance of symbolism in literature. But he couldn't focus on the lesson, his mind kept wandering back to Maya and the conversation he had with his mom the day before. As he sat there, he couldn't help but think about how much he loved Maya and how much she loved him. He recalled the way she had reassured his mom, putting her mind at ease with her kind words and gentle demeanor. But as he sat in class, he couldn't shake the image of Maya from his mind. He thought about the way she smiled at him, the way she laughed when he made her smile, and the way she made him feel when they were together. He felt a flutter in his chest as he remembered the way she had looked at him, her eyes filled with love and adoration. He couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to have her all to himself, to be the only one she was thinking about. As the class went on, Eric found it harder and harder to focus. He kept thinking about Maya and how much he wanted to be with her. He felt a pang of guilt for not being able to concentrate on his schoolwork, but he just couldn't help it. The teacher wrote something on the board, and Eric snapped back to reality, taking note of what was being said. But his mind was still elsewhere, and he couldn't shake the feeling that he was in love with Maya. When the bell rang, signaling the end of class, Eric felt a sense of relief wash over him. He quickly gathered his things and headed out of the classroom, eager to get home and see Maya. As he walked down the hall, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. He knew that he would see her soon, and he couldn't wait to tell her about his day. He turned the corner and bumped into his friend, Alex, who was grinning at him. "Hey, Eric, what's up?" he asked. Eric shook his head, still feeling distracted. "Not much, just got out of class," he replied. Alex looked at him with a curious expression. "You okay, man? You seem a little out of it today." Eric nodded, trying to play it cool. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just got a lot on my mind, that's all." Alex nodded sympathetically. "I know the feeling. But hey, if you ever want to talk about it, I'm here for you." Eric smiled, appreciating his friend's concern. "Thanks, Alex. I appreciate it." As he walked home, Eric couldn't help but think about Maya and how much he loved her. He knew that his mom had concerns about their relationship, but he was determined to make it work. He thought about how much Maya had done for him, and how much she cared about him. He knew that he could always count on her, and that she would be there for him no matter what. When he got home, he quickly grabbed his backpack and headed to Maya's house. He couldn't wait to see her and tell her all about his day. As he walked up the path, he felt a sense of excitement building inside of him. He knew that he would see her soon, and he couldn't wait to be in her presence. He took a deep breath, composed himself, and knocked on the door. When she answered, he was taken aback by her beauty. She was wearing a simple white dress, and her hair was tied back in a ponytail. "Hey," she said, smiling at him. "How was your day?" Eric shook his head, still feeling distracted. "It was good," he replied. "I just missed you, that's all." Maya smiled, and her eyes sparkled with love. "I missed you too," she said. Eric felt his heart skip a beat as he looked at her. He knew that he was in love with her, and he couldn't wait to see what the future held for them.
