Chapter 41: New Faces and Familiar Fears

Part 40

The next day, Oslo's words still lingered in my mind as I walked into class, my heart racing with excitement and a hint of fear. What did it mean to be more than just a Dreamwalker? I couldn't shake off the feeling that my life was about to take a drastic turn. As I took my seat, I noticed Oslo was already there, chatting with some of my classmates. I recognized a few of them from our previous encounters, but there were many more I hadn't met yet. The classroom was buzzing with chatter and laughter, and I felt a bit overwhelmed. Just then, a girl with short, spiky black hair and piercing brown eyes walked in, her eyes scanning the room as if searching for someone. She spotted Oslo and me, and a hint of a smile played on her lips. "Hey, Oslo!" she said, plopping down beside him. "What's going on?" "This is Vesper," Oslo said, gesturing to me. "And this is Mina Ashido." Mina turned to me and smiled warmly. "Hi, Vesper! It's great to finally meet you." As we chatted, a few more students introduced themselves. There was Jiro, a quiet, reserved girl with a talent for music; Ochaco Uraraka, a bubbly, energetic girl who seemed to be always smiling; and Tsu, a soft-spoken boy with a passion for technology. I was starting to feel more at ease when a tall, imposing figure walked in, his eyes fixed intently on me. "Hey, I'm Hitoshi Shinsou," he said, his voice deep and commanding. I shook his hand, trying to hide my surprise at his intensity. Next to introduce himself was Ayoma, a gentle-looking girl with a kind smile and a love for nature. As the introductions continued, I met more of my classmates: Eijiro Kirishima, a boisterous, confident boy with a passion for construction; Denki Kaminari, a laid-back, easygoing guy who seemed to be always hungry; and Katsuki Bakugo, a hot-headed, explosive boy who seemed to have a rivalry going with a certain someone. That someone, I soon discovered, was Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, a cheerful, enthusiastic boy who seemed to be always smiling. I also met Sato, a quiet, reserved girl with a talent for sports; Koda, a gentle, soft-spoken boy with a love for animals; and Momo Yaoyorozu, a confident, charismatic girl who seemed to be a natural leader. As the morning wore on, I met even more of my classmates: Todoroki, a brooding, intense boy with a complicated past; Ida, a charming, confident boy with a talent for fashion; Shoji, a quiet, reserved boy with a love for electronics; and Sero, a laid-back, easygoing guy who seemed to be always relaxed. Despite the chaos and confusion, I was starting to feel a sense of belonging, of being part of a community. But Oslo's words still lingered in my mind, and I couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to me than met the eye. As the class began, I took a deep breath, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. Little did I know, my life was about to get a whole lot more complicated.
