**Chapter 1: Reincarnated into a World of Heroes**

Part 1

I woke up to the sound of my own screams, or at least, I think I did. Everything was so confusing. I remembered drowning in the ocean, and now I was...here. Wherever "here" was. As I slowly sat up, I noticed I was in a hospital bed, surrounded by unfamiliar walls and equipment beeping all around me. A piece of paper on my bedside table caught my eye, with a simple message scrawled on it: "Welcome to U.A. High School, Vesper." Vesper. That was me. I remembered now; I was Vesper, a story writer from the real world, who had somehow reincarnated into the world of My Hero Academia. All the characters I had once known as fictional were now people I could meet, talk to, and...possibly even fall in love with. The thought sent shivers down my spine. The door creaked open, and a kind-faced woman with short, curly brown hair entered. "Good morning, Vesper! I'm Nurse Matsuda. How are you feeling today?" I managed a weak smile. "I...I think I'm okay. Still a bit confused." Nurse Matsuda chuckled. "Don't worry, it takes time. You'll get used to it here. You're going to be just fine." She handed me a schedule and some papers. "You're supposed to move into the dorms tomorrow. Your class is waiting for you, and I'm sure they're all excited to meet you." The next day, I arrived at U.A. High School, feeling both excited and terrified. As I stepped into the dorms, I was greeted by a sea of friendly faces. That's when I saw him – Katsuki Bakugo, the explosive hero-in-training, who would later become a significant figure in my life. We were introduced, and I tried to remember everyone's names, but it was overwhelming. That's when I noticed a peculiar voice whispering in my ear. "Hey, Vesper. You look adorable, even if a bit scared." It was Osby, my shadow – or rather, my manifestation of shadow manipulation. I had named Osby short for Obsidian, after the dark, glossy volcanic glass that seemed to reflect the depths of my soul. "Osby, what's going on?" I whispered back, trying not to draw attention. "Just observing, Vesper. Some of these boys are quite...interesting. You might find them...appealing." I blushed, feeling a little self-conscious. Osby chuckled and continued to whisper advice and observations throughout the day. At the welcome party, I met even more students, including Izuku Midoriya (Deku), Ochaco Uraraka, and Tenya Iida. They all seemed so kind and genuine. Deku, in particular, caught my eye with his bright smile and infectious enthusiasm. The next day, I won the best room contest, much to everyone's surprise. I was placed in a cozy room with a stunning view of the city. As I was unpacking, Todoroki Shouto knocked on my door, his expression soft and inquiring. "Vesper, can I talk to you for a bit?" I hesitated, unsure of what to say, but Osby encouraged me to chat with him. "He seems nice, Vesper. And rather handsome, if I do say so myself." As Todoroki and I talked, I couldn't help but notice the other boys glancing at me, some with clear admiration in their eyes. Kaminari Denki, the class clown, was the first to approach me, flirting shamelessly. I playfully flirted back, just for fun. Mineta Rinindo, however, made me uncomfortable with his overly aggressive advances. Meanwhile, rumors began to spread about the villains taking notice of me. Dabi, Shigaraki, Overhaul, and Toga Himiko – all notorious for their ruthless deeds – had apparently developed an interest in me. The sports festival arrived, and I participated in the 100-meter dash, coming in second place right behind Deku. In the chivalry battle, I was paired with Bakugo, and to my surprise, we worked incredibly well together, taking first place in the 1v1s. During the match, I faced off against Shizuki, Tokoyami, and Bakugo. Our fight was intense, with Bakugo using his explosions to try and throw me off. I focused on using my martial arts skills and my shadow manipulation to counter his attacks. In the heat of battle, I strained to see Bakugo's shadow but couldn't. That's when I realized I needed to rely on my instincts and actual combat skills. The fight was super close, with both of us exchanging blows and getting injured. As the crowd watched at the edge of their seats, I almost got knocked out of bounds, but I managed to get up, determined to keep fighting. However, just as I charged at Bakugo, he delivered another explosion right in my face, and everything went dark. When I came to, I was in the nurse's office, surrounded by Deku, Todoroki, Ochaco, and Mina. They all looked worried, but relieved that I was okay. The villains, or LOV (League of Villains), were shocked and even more infatuated with me after my impressive display of strength and resilience in the sports festival. That evening, as we returned to the dorms, everyone congratulated Todoroki, Bakugo, and me on our performances. Kaminari was visibly upset with Bakugo for his rough handling of me during the fight, but I reassured him that it was fine. As I lay in bed that night, exhausted, Osby's voice whispered in my ear, "You did really well today, Vesper. I think you're going to fit in just fine here." Just as I drifted off to sleep, I sensed a presence outside my window, on the balcony. Dabi, one of the villains, stood there, staring intensely at me. For a moment, I thought he would enter, but he simply vanished into the night. The next day, our class went on a trip to the mall, and while everyone wandered off in groups, I decided to explore on my own. That's when I heard the raspy voice behind me, "Miss me?" My heart sank as I recognized Shigaraki's tone. "Why don't we have a chat," he suggested, his eyes glinting with amusement. I tried to remain calm, but my heart was racing. "Please, don't hurt my friends," I begged, tears welling up in my eyes. Shigaraki's smile sent chills down my spine. Just as I thought all was lost, Deku appeared, concern etched on his face. "Vesper? Is this your friend?" he asked, before realizing it was Shigaraki. The villain let go of my neck, and Deku rushed to my side, embracing me tightly. We eventually found the others and returned to the dorm, where I downplayed the incident, not wanting to worry anyone. However, when they saw Shigaraki's finger imprints on my neck, they immediately surrounded me, hugging me tightly. Shinso even asked if I wanted to hang out, and I accepted, grateful for his company. As I smiled and assured Aizawa-sensei that I was fine, I couldn't help but feel grateful for my new friends and the complicated, thrilling world I had been reincarnated into. Little did I know, this was only the beginning of my adventures in a world of heroes and villains.
