**Chapter 5: The King's Sons**

Part 5

The warm sunlight streaming through the windows of King Westergaard's hut highlighted the concerned expressions on the faces of Iduna and the king. They had been talking for hours, and Iduna had learned much about the kingdom and its ruler. But despite the king's kindness, Iduna couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this kingdom than met the eye. As if on cue, the door to the hut opened, and a group of young men strode in. They were tall and handsome, with chiseled features and confident smiles. Iduna's eyes narrowed, as she wondered who they were, and what they wanted. "Ah, my sons," King Westergaard said, his voice booming with pride. "I want you to meet Queen Iduna of Arendelle." The young men bowed, their eyes fixed on Iduna with a mixture of curiosity and disdain. Iduna's heart skipped a beat, as she sensed the tension in the air. "Allow me to introduce my sons," King Westergaard said, his voice smooth as silk. "This is Caleb, my eldest son and crown prince. Then there's Rudi and Runo, my fifth and sixth sons. And of course, there's Lars, my youngest son, except for Hans, that is." Iduna's eyes scanned the group, taking in their features and auras. Caleb was tall and imposing, with a confident air about him. Rudi and Runo were shorter, but just as handsome, with mischievous grins on their faces. Lars was younger, with a more gentle expression, and a mop of messy brown hair. But it was the youngest son, Hans, who caught Iduna's attention. He was standing at the back of the group, his eyes fixed on the floor, his face pale and drawn. Iduna sensed a deep sadness in him, a feeling of inadequacy that seemed to weigh him down. "And this is Hans, my youngest son," King Westergaard said, his voice softer, as he gazed at the young man. As Iduna's eyes met Hans', she felt a pang of compassion. There was something about this young man that drew her in, something that made her want to reach out and help him. But before she could say anything, Rudi and Runo spoke up, their voices loud and boisterous. "So, you're the Queen of Arendelle," Rudi said, his eyes sneering. "I've heard a lot about you." Iduna's eyes narrowed, as she sensed the mockery in his voice. "And I've heard nothing about you," she replied, her voice cool. The group laughed, and King Westergaard's expression turned stern. "Enough," he said. "My sons, show some respect to our guest." As the group fell silent, Iduna caught Hans' eye, and smiled softly. She sensed that he needed a friend, someone to talk to, and she was willing to listen. The rest of the day passed in a blur, as Iduna learned more about the kingdom and its people. But she couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this kingdom than met the eye, and that the king's sons were not what they seemed. As the sun began to set, Iduna excused herself, feeling tired but also grateful for the king's kindness. As she lay in bed that night, she couldn't help but wonder what the future held, and what role Hans would play in it. The sounds of the kingdom at night were a gentle hum, a soothing melody that seemed to lull her to sleep. But Iduna's mind was racing, as she thought about the king's sons, and the secrets they might be hiding. She knew that she had to be careful, but she also knew that she couldn't ignore the sense of unease that had settled in her stomach. As she drifted off to sleep, Iduna felt a sense of determination rising within her. She would uncover the truth about this kingdom, and she would help Hans, no matter what it took. The darkness outside seemed to press in around her, but she felt a sense of peace, a sense of purpose that she hadn't felt in days. The night was dark and silent, but Iduna's heart was full of hope. She knew that she had a long road ahead of her, but she was ready to face whatever challenges came her way. And as she slept, she smiled, knowing that she was one step closer to finding out what the future held.
