**A Private Sanctuary**
Part 5
As the breakfast chaos subsided, and the family began to disperse, Jesus turned to Maya with a mischievous grin. "Want to see my room?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with excitement. Maya nodded, curiosity getting the better of her. Jesus led her out of the living room, down a short hallway, and to a door at the end. He pushed it open, revealing a cozy bedroom that was a far cry from the sterile, institutional spaces Maya was used to. The room was a testament to Jesus's personality - a mix of messy, laid-back charm and thoughtful, personal touches. There were posters on the walls, guitars in the corner, and a desk covered in papers, books, and random knick-knacks. Maya's eyes widened as she took it all in. "This is...wow," she said, trying to process the explosion of color and texture. Jesus chuckled, clearly pleased with himself. "I know, right? Jude and I share this room, but I like to think it's my own little sanctuary." Just then, a small, energetic body burst into the room, nearly knocking Maya over. "Hey, Jeez! What's going on?" Jude asked, his eyes shining with excitement. Jesus smiled and ruffled Jude's hair. "Hey, buddy. Maya and I were just going to...hang out for a bit. Can you give us some space?" Jude's face fell, but he quickly recovered. "Aww, okay. Can I go play with Callie?" Jesus nodded. "Yeah, go for it. But don't make too much noise, okay?" Jude grinned and bounded out of the room, leaving Jesus and Maya alone. As the door closed behind him, Jesus turned to Maya with a serious expression. "I'm glad we have some time to ourselves," he said, his voice low and gentle. "I want to talk to you about some stuff." Maya's heart skipped a beat as she met Jesus's gaze. She felt a sense of anticipation, a sense that something important was about to happen. She nodded, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm listening."
