Chapter 14: A Life-Changing Opportunity

Part 13

A Life-Changing Opportunity Kenzy's fingers hovered over her keyboard, hesitating for a moment before she clicked the send button. She had just emailed her manuscript to a few beta readers and was eagerly waiting to hear their thoughts. As she leaned back in her chair, a sense of satisfaction washed over her. She had poured her heart and soul into that story, and it felt amazing to finally share it with others. Weeks went by, and Kenzy had almost forgotten about the manuscript when her phone buzzed with an incoming call. She picked it up, expecting it to be Levi or one of her friends. But the voice on the other end was unfamiliar. "Hello, is this Kenzy?" a professional-sounding woman asked. "Yes, it is," Kenzy replied, her curiosity piqued. "Hi Kenzy, my name is Rachel, and I'm a representative from Elite Modeling Agency. We've been following your social media, and we're impressed with your look and your following. We're interested in offering you a modeling contract with one of our major clients." Kenzy's eyes widened in shock. She had never considered modeling as a career, but the idea was tempting. "What kind of contract?" she asked, trying to sound calm. "We're looking for a brand ambassador for our client, Aurora Beauty. They're a well-known skincare and makeup brand, and they're looking for someone to represent their products in a series of campaigns. The shoots will be taking place in Los Angeles, and we're offering a very competitive rate." Kenzy's mind was racing. She had always been interested in beauty and fashion, and this could be a great opportunity. But then Rachel dropped a bombshell. "The shoots will be taking place at the same location where Levi Griffith is currently staying. We've rented a luxurious villa in the Hollywood Hills, and he'll be nearby." Kenzy's heart skipped a beat. Levi was going to be so close, and she wouldn't be able to see him? The thought was both exciting and nerve-wracking. "What's the pay?" Kenzy asked, trying to sound professional. "The pay is $10,000 per shoot, and there will be three shoots in total. You'll also receive a daily stipend and all your expenses covered. We're looking for someone who is available to start immediately." Kenzy was stunned. $30,000 was a life-changing amount of money, and the opportunity was too good to pass up. But could she really handle being so close to Levi without seeing him? As she hesitated, Rachel added one more incentive. "We're also willing to offer you a bonus if you can commit to a certain level of social media engagement. We're looking for someone who can promote the brand and create buzz around the campaign." Kenzy took a deep breath and made a decision. She would do it. She would take the opportunity and see where it led her. "Yes, I'm in," she said, trying to sound confident. Rachel's voice was warm and friendly. "Great! We'll send over the contract and all the details. Congratulations, Kenzy. You're going to be a model." As Kenzy hung up the phone, she felt a mix of emotions. She was excited about the opportunity, but she was also nervous about being so close to Levi without seeing him. What would happen when she got to Los Angeles? Would she be able to resist the temptation to reach out to him? Only time would tell.
