"A Dark Turn of Events"
Part 26
A few days had passed since the mysterious stranger had walked into the cafe, and Ashley had almost forgotten about him. She had been busy with work and taking care of her children, and her mind had been preoccupied with the daily struggles of making ends meet. But as she poured steaming hot coffee into a customer's cup, she saw him walk in again, his piercing blue eyes scanning the room until they landed on her. Ashley's heart skipped a beat as he approached her, a small smile playing on his lips. "I'll have the same as before," he said, his deep voice sending a shiver down her spine. Ashley nodded, trying to shake off the feeling of unease that had settled in her stomach. She made his coffee and handed it to him, their fingers touching briefly as he took the cup from her. As he turned to leave, he gestured to the bathroom, his eyes locked on hers. "I need to use the bathroom," he said, his voice low and husky. Ashley felt a surge of hesitation, but something about his tone made her follow him to the bathroom. As they stood in front of the sink, he turned to her, his eyes flashing with a intensity that made her skin crawl. Before she could react, he pushed her back against the sink, his hands grasping her arms. Ashley tried to struggle, but he was too strong. She felt a wave of fear wash over her as she realized that she was trapped. The next thing she knew, she was in pain, her body aching in ways she never thought possible. She managed to break free from his grip and stumbled out of the bathroom, her vision blurry. She clocked out of her shift, her mind reeling with what had just happened. As she walked home, Ashley felt like she was in a daze. She couldn't shake off the feeling of violation and fear that had settled in her heart. When she opened the door to her apartment, she was greeted by the familiar sight of Tyler and Chloe, playing on the floor with blocks. Ashley collapsed onto the couch, trying to process what had just happened. She wrapped her arms around her children, holding them close as tears streamed down her face. "Mommy's okay, babies," she whispered, trying to reassure them that everything was going to be alright. But deep down, she knew that she was far from okay. The encounter in the bathroom had left her shaken, and she couldn't shake off the feeling that her life was about to change in ways she never could have imagined.
