"Unspoken Apologies"

Part 17

Julie's eyes never left Yoongi's as she tried to process her emotions. She was grateful to be awake, to be alive, and to have Yoongi by her side. But there was something else, something that nagged at her conscience. She remembered the dream, the feeling of panic and fear that had gripped her. And she remembered the words she had spoken, the accusations she had hurled at Yoongi. "Yoongi?" she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Yeah?" he replied, his eyes locked onto hers. Julie took a deep breath, her heart pounding in her chest. "I'm sorry," she said, the words tumbling out of her mouth. Yoongi's expression changed, a look of surprise crossing his face. "Sorry for what?" he asked, his voice gentle. Julie's eyes dropped, shame washing over her. She didn't know what was real and what wasn't, but she knew she had hurt Yoongi in her dream. And she knew she had to make it right. "For what I said," she said, her voice barely audible. "In my dream...I said things, things that weren't true. And I'm so sorry." Yoongi's grip on her hand tightened, his fingers intertwining with hers. "You didn't say anything to me in your sleep," he said softly. "You just talked nonsense, stuff that didn't make sense. You were confused and scared, but you didn't say anything hurtful." Julie's eyes snapped back up to Yoongi's, a mix of relief and guilt swirling in her chest. She had accused him of things, things that she couldn't even remember now. But she knew she had hurt him, and she was sorry. "But I still said things," she said, her voice shaking. "Things that I don't even remember. And I'm sorry, Yoongi. I'm so sorry for hurting you." Yoongi's expression softened, his eyes filling with understanding. "You didn't hurt me, Julie," he said. "You were just scared and confused. And I'm here for you, no matter what." The room was quiet for a moment, the only sound the steady beep of the hospital equipment. Julie's eyes locked onto Yoongi's, and she felt a sense of gratitude wash over her. She was lucky to have him, to have someone who cared for her so deeply. "Thank you," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Yoongi smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "You're welcome," he said. "Now, try to rest, okay? You've been through a lot." Julie nodded, feeling a sense of peace wash over her. She knew she still had a long way to go, but with Yoongi by her side, she felt like she could face anything.
