A Hero in the Making
Part 57
He's going much too fast! We met ten minutes ago! I get that kids socialize easily, but what in the actual fuck- "But-" "Being heroes is such a passionate thing!" Yoarashi keeps ranting, his words spilling out in a rapid-fire succession. "I'm telling you, (Y/N)-chan, we're going to be the greatest hero duo of all time! I can already imagine it: we'll save the world from villains, and people will look up to us as role models!" I try to interrupt him again, but he's too fast, too enthusiastic. "I know, right? Hero school is going to be so much fun! I've already started thinking about what kind of hero I want to be. I want to be a hero who can make a real difference, someone who can inspire others to be heroes too!" He takes a deep breath, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "Oh! What's your quirk, (Y/N)-chan? Mine is Whirlwind! I can- like-" he waves his hands, and a soft breeze makes my hair flutter; it's weak compared to what he'll one day be able to do, but still impressing. "Wow," I breathe out, "That's a really cool quirk, Inasa-kun." I channel my inner Izuku for a second, thinking about how excited he would be to analyze Yoarashi's quirk. That reminds me of how he reacted to my quirk, pages upon pages of "Hero analysis for the future" dedicated to detailed drawings of a (h/c)-haired girl, and that also reminds me that I haven't answered his question yet. "Oh, mine is called Shadow Manipulation." I went to register it with my parents the very day I awakened it, but I wasn't expecting for the guy to ask me to name it: I was four, for God's sake. That was the first name that came to my mind. "Not very creative, I know."
