**Chapter 3: The Incident**

Part 3

The crowded streets of New Eden's lower districts pulsed with energy, the smell of smoke and desperation hanging heavy in the air. Wren navigated the throngs of people with a confidence that belied her young age, her bright green eyes scanning the market stalls and pedestrians. She stopped at a street vendor, a haggard old man selling scraps of food to those who couldn't afford anything else. As she eyed the meager offerings, Wren's stomach growled with hunger. She had skipped dinner, opting instead to explore the city and clear her head. The vendor, Marcus, looked up at her and smiled. "Hey, kid. What can I get for you today?" Wren snorted, her sharp tongue and quick wit a shield that kept people at bay. "You know I don't have any credits, Marcus. Just trying to see if you've got anything edible." Marcus chuckled and handed her a small, stale roll. "For you, kid, I'll give it to you for free. But don't tell anyone I'm getting soft." Wren took the roll, her eyes widening as she bit into it. The taste was bland, but it was better than nothing. As she finished her snack, Wren felt a strange tingling sensation in her fingers. It was a sensation she had experienced before, but never understood. The sensation grew stronger, and Wren felt a sudden surge of energy course through her body. She looked around, wondering if anyone else had noticed, but the people around her seemed oblivious. Marcus, however, caught her eye. He looked concerned, his brow furrowed in worry. "Kid, you okay? You look like you're going to pass out." Wren shook her head, trying to clear it. "I'm fine, Marcus. Just a little...tired, that's all." But she wasn't fine. Something was happening to her, something she couldn't explain. The tingling sensation grew stronger, and Wren felt a nearby can of food lift off the ground, hovering in mid-air. Her eyes widened in shock. What was happening to her? She had never experienced anything like this before. The can of food dropped to the ground, and Wren stumbled backward, her heart racing. She looked around, wondering if anyone had seen, but the people around her seemed oblivious. That's when she saw them - a group of rough-looking thugs, their eyes fixed on her with a mixture of curiosity and hostility. Wren's instincts kicked in, and she stood her ground, her fists clenched. "Back off, guys. I'm not looking for trouble." But the thugs didn't back down. They moved closer, their faces twisted into sneers. Wren's heart racing, she raised her hands, and to her amazement, the thugs were lifted off the ground, suspended in mid-air. The crowd around her gasped in shock, and the thugs' eyes went wide with fear. Wren's eyes widened in shock. She had no idea how she was doing this. The authorities arrived, responding to a distress call from one of the vendors. Wren was caught off guard, and before she knew it, she was surrounded by black-clad agents. A tall, imposing figure emerged from the crowd, his piercing blue eyes fixed on her. "Reine Green, you're coming with us." Wren's heart sank. She had a feeling that her life was about to change in ways she couldn't even imagine. The agents closed in, and Wren was dragged away, her mind reeling with questions. As she was taken away, Wren caught a glimpse of the figure's face. He was handsome, with chiseled features and a strong jawline. But it was his eyes that caught her attention - piercing blue, with a hint of calculation. She had a feeling that she was in trouble, and that this man was going to be a big part of her life. The figure watched her go, his expression unreadable. He turned to one of the agents. "I want to know what she's capable of. Take her to the asylum. I'll be there soon." The agent nodded, and the figure turned to leave, his eyes fixed on some point in the distance. Wren, meanwhile, was taken to a place she had never seen before. A place that seemed to exist outside of the city's normal boundaries. She had no idea what was in store for her, but she was determined to find out. As she was led away, she caught a glimpse of a logo on the agent's uniform - the emblem of the New Eden Asylum. Wren's heart sank. She had heard rumors about the asylum, about the people who were taken there and never seen again. She had a feeling that she was in for a wild ride, one that would change her life forever.
