Chapter 16: The Unspoken Question

Part 15

The unspoken question hung in the air, a silent elephant in the room that no one dared to mention. Julie's eyes, still adjusting to the sudden influx of emotions, scanned the room, searching for a glimpse of a familiar face. But it was nowhere to be found. Her gaze drifted to Hobi and Jimin, their concerned expressions a stark contrast to the cheerfulness that usually accompanied them. As she lay there, a sense of unease crept up her spine. It had been days since she'd last seen or heard from Yoongi, and the absence was starting to feel like a void that couldn't be ignored. The hospital room, once a sanctuary, now felt like a sterile space that seemed to amplify her worries. Hobi, sensing her tension, placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "We're taking care of you, Julie," he said softly. "You're safe here." Julie nodded, trying to push aside her concerns. But she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. She looked at Jimin, who was watching her with an intense gaze. "What happened to Yoongi?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Jimin's expression faltered, and he exchanged a glance with Hobi. The silence that followed was oppressive, heavy with unspoken words. Julie's heart began to pound in her chest as she waited for an answer. Finally, Jimin spoke up, his voice low and measured. "We've been trying to reach him, but he's not responding to our calls or messages." Hobi added, "We've been trying to get in touch with him since the accident, but it's like he vanished into thin air." The words sent a shiver down Julie's spine. She felt a sense of foreboding wash over her, as if something was terribly wrong. The room seemed to grow darker, the shadows cast by the hospital equipment twisting into menacing shapes. Julie's mind began to whirl with questions. What could have happened to Yoongi? Was he okay? Was he hurt? The not knowing was eating away at her, making her feel anxious and scared. As she lay there, surrounded by her friends, Julie couldn't shake the feeling that they were on the cusp of something much bigger than they had initially thought. And at the center of it all was the mysterious disappearance of Yoongi.
