**Chapter 15: A Night of Tension**
Part 15
The warm glow of candles and the soft rustle of silk fabrics filled the air, creating a romantic ambiance that seemed to mock Kaitlyn's very presence. As she stood in the lavish honeymoon suite, her blue eyes scanned the room, taking in the opulent furnishings and rich tapestries that adorned the walls. A large four-poster bed dominated the center of the room, its white linens and silken drapes billowing softly in the breeze. Kaitlyn's eyes widened as she took in the sight, her mind reeling with the implications of what was expected of her. Theodore, his dark gray eyes gleaming with a mixture of amusement and annoyance, gestured for Kaitlyn to enter the room. Kaitlyn hesitated for a moment, her eyes locked on his, before she stepped inside. The soft click of the door closing behind her made her jump, and she turned to face Theodore. The air was thick with tension as Theodore walked over to the fireplace and poured himself a glass of wine. His eyes never left Kaitlyn's face as he raised the glass to his lips, his expression unreadable. Kaitlyn's gaze drifted to the glass, her mind numb with the events of the day. "You're not going to try to escape again, are you?" Theodore asked, his voice low and husky. The sound sent shivers down Kaitlyn's spine, and she felt a flush rise to her cheeks. Kaitlyn's eyes flashed with defiance, and she took a step forward, her petite frame silhouetted against the window. "I don't see why I should stay," she said, her voice cool and detached. "You've made it clear that you don't want me here." Theodore's eyes narrowed, his sharp eyebrows furrowing in thought. He set his glass down on the mantelpiece and walked over to Kaitlyn, his movements fluid and controlled. "I don't want you to go," he said, his voice softening. "At least, not yet." Kaitlyn's eyes widened, her heart pounding in her chest. She didn't know what to make of Theodore's words, or the look in his eyes. It was as if he was studying her, trying to understand her. Theodore took a step closer, his eyes burning with intensity. "We're married now, Kaitlyn," he said. "And I expect you to act like a wife." Kaitlyn's face went cold, her blue eyes flashing with anger. "And what exactly does that mean?" she asked, her voice icy. Theodore's smile was slow and sensual, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "It means that you'll be staying here with me," he said. "In this room, and in this bed." Kaitlyn's eyes widened, her heart racing with fear. She knew what was expected of her, and she was determined not to give in. "I'll stay in the room," she said, her voice cool. "But I make no promises about the bed." Theodore's laughter was low and husky, sending shivers down Kaitlyn's spine. "We'll see about that," he said, his eyes gleaming with challenge. As the night wore on, Kaitlyn and Theodore engaged in a battle of wills, each trying to outmaneuver the other. The tension between them was palpable, and Kaitlyn could feel the weight of Theodore's gaze on her. She tried to ignore it, but it was like trying to ignore a spark of electricity in the air. Eventually, they decided to retire for the night, each of them claiming a side of the bed. Kaitlyn lay awake, her blue eyes fixed on the ceiling, as she listened to Theodore's steady breathing. She knew that she had to be careful, that she had to protect herself from Theodore's advances. But as she lay there, she couldn't help but feel a spark of attraction, a sense that there was more to Theodore than met the eye. The night was long and sleepless, filled with tension and unspoken desires. Kaitlyn knew that she had to navigate this new reality, to find a way to coexist with Theodore. But for now, she just lay there, her heart pounding in her chest, as she wondered what the future held.
