"A Web of Unspoken Feelings"

Part 10

As we walked away from Kaminari's room, I couldn't help but turn back to him and ask, "Hey, Kaminari, who is Vesper-Chan?" I had to know what was going on. Kaminari's eyes widened in surprise, and he looked at me with a mixture of embarrassment and excitement. "Uh, it's... you, of course," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. I felt a jolt of surprise, and my eyes met Osby's, who was watching us with a curious expression. Osby's eyes narrowed, and he looked like he had been punched in the gut. It slowly dawned on him what Kaminari had just said, and his expression changed in an instant. He thought back to what Kaminari had muttered under his breath, and his eyes locked onto Kaminari with a hint of jealousy. "You... asked me to marry you?" I asked, trying to clarify. Kaminari's face turned an even deeper shade of red as he nodded sheepishly. "I-I was just joking, of course! I mean, I didn't mean it like that... I just really like your... your... um, personality!" Osby's eyes flashed with anger, and he took a step forward, his fists clenched. "Personality?" Osby repeated, his voice low and even. "You like her personality? And that's why you asked her to marry you?" Kaminari looked taken aback by Osby's reaction, and he took a step back, his eyes darting between Osby and me. "I-I didn't mean it like that, I swear! It was just a stupid joke!" Osby's expression turned cold, and he turned to me. "I think we need to talk," he said, his voice low and urgent. I exchanged a nervous glance with Kaminari, who looked like he was about to bolt. "Uh, guys, I think I should go," Kaminari said, backing away slowly. But Osby's eyes were fixed on me, and he didn't seem to be letting me go anywhere. "No, Denki, I think you should stay," Osby said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I think we need to have a little chat about your... joke."
