Chapter 6: Grief

Part 6

The days that followed Iduna's return to Arendelle were shrouded in a somber melancholy, as if the very fabric of the kingdom had been woven with sorrow. The once vibrant halls of the castle now seemed dull and lifeless, echoing with the whispers of the past. Iduna's heart felt like it was heavy with a weight that she couldn't shake off, a constant reminder of the loss she had suffered. The memories of King Agnarr's laughter, his warm smile, and his gentle touch lingered in every corner of the castle, making her grief even more unbearable. As she walked through the empty corridors, Iduna couldn't help but think of the happy times she and Agnarr had shared. She remembered the way he used to make her laugh, the way he used to hold her hand, and the way he used to look at her with so much love in his eyes. The pain of his loss was like a festering wound that refused to heal, and Iduna felt like she was drowning in a sea of sorrow. Elsa and Anna tried to comfort her, but even their love and support couldn't ease the pain of her loss. Iduna felt like she was walking through a dark forest, with no light in sight. She would see Agnarr's face in her mind, and it would feel so real, so vivid. She would reach out to touch him, only to remember that he was gone. The castle staff did their best to help, but even their efforts were tinged with sadness. They would whisper condolences and offer sympathy, but Iduna could see the fear in their eyes. They were worried about the future, about what would happen to Arendelle without King Agnarr. As the days turned into a week, Iduna started to feel like she was losing herself in her grief. She would stare blankly at the walls, her mind numb and empty. Elsa and Anna would try to talk to her, but she wouldn't respond. They would try to hug her, but she would push them away. One day, as she was walking in the gardens, Iduna stumbled upon a statue of Agnarr. It was a beautiful piece, one that captured his strength and his kindness. Iduna felt a wave of emotion wash over her, and she collapsed to the ground, sobbing uncontrollably. She had never felt such a deep pain before, such a sense of loss. Elsa and Anna found her there, and they wrapped their arms around her, holding her close. "We're here, Mother," Elsa said, her voice soft and gentle. "We'll get through this together." Iduna looked up at them, her eyes red and puffy. "I'm so sorry," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I feel like I'm losing myself." Anna took her hand. "You're not alone, Mother," she said. "We're here for you. We'll always be here for you." As they hugged her, Iduna felt a sense of peace wash over her. She knew that she wasn't alone, that she had her daughters to lean on. And in that moment, she knew that she would be okay, that she would find a way to heal and move forward. The sun was setting over Arendelle, casting a golden glow over the kingdom. Iduna looked up at the sky, feeling a sense of hope that she hadn't felt in days. She knew that she still had a long way to go, but with her daughters by her side, she felt like she could face anything. As they walked back to the castle, Iduna felt a sense of determination rising within her. She would get through this, she would find a way to heal and move forward. And she would do it with her daughters by her side, as a family.
