**Chapter 17: Aftermath**

Part 17

As the last tremors of pleasure subsided, Johnny's body relaxed, his weight sinking into mine. I could feel his heart still racing, his chest heaving with exertion, as he struggled to catch his breath. I wrapped my arms around him, holding him close, and he nuzzled his face into my neck, his lips brushing against my skin. In that moment, I felt a sense of completeness, as if our bodies had become one, and nothing could ever tear us apart. But as the minutes ticked by, reality began to creep back in, and I couldn't shake the feeling that our passion had awakened something that we couldn't control. Johnny's hands began to roam again, but this time, they were gentle, tracing patterns on my skin as he whispered sweet nothings into my ear. His words were like a soothing balm, calming my frazzled nerves and easing my doubts. I felt my eyelids growing heavy, and before I knew it, I was drifting off to sleep once more, lulled by the sound of his gentle breathing. But I wasn't asleep for long. A loud crash of thunder boomed outside, making me jump. The storm that had been brewing all day had finally arrived, and it was intense. The lights in the room flickered, and I could hear the sound of rain pounding against the windows. Johnny stirred, his eyes snapping open as he sat up, his gaze scanning the room. "What's wrong?" he asked, his voice groggy with sleep. "The storm," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper. He looked out the window, his eyes narrowing as he watched the rain lash down. "It's a big one," he muttered, his voice low and concerned. Suddenly, his phone rang, shrill in the silence. He hesitated for a moment before answering it, his voice gruff as he spoke to whoever was on the other end. I couldn't make out what was being said, but Johnny's expression grew increasingly grim. "What is it?" I asked, feeling a sense of unease creeping over me. He turned to me, his eyes locked on mine. "It's my brother," he said, his voice tight with tension. "He's on his way here. He's got some news, and it's not good." I felt a shiver run down my spine as Johnny's eyes seemed to bore into mine, as if he was trying to prepare me for something. But I had no idea what was coming, or how it would change our lives forever.
