Chapter 122: After the Spark

Part 121

"Yeah, I'm fine," I say, trying to sound casual, while my heart was still racing from the kiss. Deku's eyes narrowed slightly, as if searching for any sign of insincerity, but I forced a smile onto my face. "Let's see who the bottle lands on next," I added, attempting to steer the conversation away from the kiss and back to the game. Mina's eyes lit up, and she clapped her hands together excitedly. "Ooh, yeah! Let's get back to the game! I want to see who'll get kissed next!" Kacchan, on the other hand, looked like he'd been punched in the gut. His eyes were cast downward, and his face was pale. I felt a pang of guilt, but I didn't know how to react. Deku's gaze lingered on me for a moment before he turned to face the others. "Alright, let's get back to it," Deku said, a hint of a smile on his face. "Who's next?" The bottle was still spinning, and when it finally came to a stop, it pointed to Kirishima. He let out a loud whoop and pumped his fist in the air. "Yes! I'm next! I'm gonna get kissed, I'm gonna get kissed!" Mina giggled and playfully rolled her eyes. "Good luck, Eijirou!" Deku chuckled and clapped Kirishima on the back. As Kirishima made his way to the center of the room, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Who would he get kissed by? And how would they react? The game had taken an unexpected turn, and I had no idea what to expect. Kirishima grinned at the person who would be kissing him - it was none other than Ashido. She looked a bit nervous, but also excited. The two of them leaned in, and their lips met in a soft, gentle kiss. Kirishima's face lit up with a bright smile, and Ashido giggled. The room erupted into cheers and applause, and I couldn't help but smile. Maybe this game wasn't so bad after all. But as I glanced over at Kacchan, I felt a pang of guilt. He was still looking down, his face expressionless. I wondered if he'd be okay. As the game continued, I couldn't shake off the feeling that things had changed. Deku's kiss had sparked something, and I had no idea what the consequences would be. But for now, I just tried to enjoy the moment, and see where this newfound spark would take us.
