**Chapter 8: Coronation Preparations**

Part 8

The days passed, and Iduna found herself slowly adjusting to life without Agnarr. The palace, once filled with the warmth and laughter of the king, now seemed empty and quiet. But as Elsa's coronation approached, Iduna knew she had to put aside her grief and focus on supporting her daughter. She couldn't let her own pain overshadow Elsa's special day. Iduna stood in Elsa's chambers, watching as her daughter tried on her coronation gown. The dress was a beautiful shade of ice blue, with intricate snowflakes embroidered along the hem. Elsa looked stunning, her long blonde hair cascading down her back like a river of gold. "Are you sure you're ready for this, Mother?" Elsa asked, her eyes searching Iduna's face. Iduna nodded, trying to muster a smile. "I'm positive, dear. I'm so proud of you." As Elsa smiled, Iduna couldn't help but think of Agnarr. He would have been so proud of Elsa too. He would have been beaming with joy, his eyes shining with pride. Iduna's eyes misted, but she pushed aside her emotions, focusing on the task at hand. Together, Iduna and Elsa worked on the final preparations for the coronation. They went over the guest list, made sure the palace was spotless, and rehearsed the ceremony. Iduna was impressed by Elsa's poise and confidence. Her daughter was growing up, and it was bittersweet for Iduna to acknowledge. As they worked, Iduna found herself stealing glances at Elsa, taking in every detail of her daughter's appearance. She noticed the way Elsa's eyes sparkled when she talked about her plans for Arendelle, the way her hair shone in the light. Iduna felt a surge of love and pride, and for a moment, her grief receded. On the eve of the coronation, Iduna and Elsa sat down to a quiet dinner in the palace dining room. Anna joined them, chattering excitedly about the upcoming ceremony. Iduna smiled, feeling a sense of normalcy wash over her. For a few hours, at least, she could forget about her pain and focus on the joy of the occasion. As they finished dinner, Iduna reached out and took Elsa's hand. "I'm so proud of you, Elsa," she said, her voice filled with emotion. "You're going to be an amazing queen." Elsa smiled, her eyes shining with happiness. "Thank you, Mother. I couldn't have done it without you." Iduna's heart swelled with love, and for a moment, she felt like she was going to cry. But she took a deep breath, composing herself. She knew that tomorrow was going to be a big day, and she was determined to be there for Elsa, to support her and celebrate her. As they stood up to leave, Iduna caught a glimpse of herself in a mirror. Her brown hair was done up in a coronet braid, a style she had worn for years. It was a reminder of her life with Agnarr, of the happy times they had shared. Iduna's eyes misted, but she pushed aside her emotions, focusing on the future. Tomorrow, Elsa would be crowned queen, and Iduna would be there to support her, to celebrate her and guide her on her journey. It was a new beginning, not just for Elsa, but for Iduna too. She was ready to face the future, to find a way to heal and move on. For Elsa's sake, and for her own.
