The Devil's Prey
Part 6
Lena's heart sank as Mr. Jenkins' grin grew wider, his eyes gleaming with a sadistic light. "I think we understand each other, Lena," he said, his voice dripping with condescension. "Now, let's get down to business." He walked over to a large, ornate desk, and gestured to a spot in front of it. "Kneel," he said, his voice cold and commanding. Lena's mind reeled as she hesitated, her legs trembling with fear. She had suspected that Mr. Jenkins was a ruthless man, but she had not expected him to be so brazenly cruel. She felt a wave of revulsion wash over her, but she knew she had to keep her wits about her if she was going to get out of this situation alive. With a sense of desperation, Lena slowly lowered herself to her knees, her eyes locked on Mr. Jenkins' face. She could see the triumph in his eyes, the satisfaction of having broken her spirit. But she refused to give him the satisfaction of seeing her cry. As she knelt there, Lena felt a surge of anger and determination. She knew she had to play along, at least for now, if she was going to have any chance of escape. But she also knew that she would not go down without a fight. Mr. Jenkins leaned back in his chair, a look of satisfaction on his face. "Good girl," he said, his voice dripping with condescension. "Now, let's talk about the terms of our agreement." Lena swallowed hard, trying to keep her voice steady. "What do you want me to do?" she asked, her eyes locked on his. Mr. Jenkins leaned forward, his eyes glinting with excitement. "I want you to be a star, Lena," he said, his voice low and husky. "A star in the making. And I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen." As he spoke, he reached out and ran his hand over her hair, his touch like a branding iron. Lena flinched, trying to pull away, but he just laughed, his grip tightening. "You'll do exactly as I say, Lena," he said, his voice cold and commanding. "And in return, I'll make sure you're taken care of. Financially, that is." Lena nodded, trying to keep her face neutral. She knew she had to play along, at least for now, if she was going to have any chance of escape. But she also knew that she would not go down without a fight. As she knelt there, Lena felt a sense of determination growing inside her. She knew she had to be careful, that one wrong move could mean disaster. But she also knew that she would not give up, no matter what Mr. Jenkins threw at her. She would find a way out, no matter what it took.
