**Chapter 1: The New Order**
Part 1
The once vibrant streets of downtown were now a bleak reminder of the society that had been lost. The air was thick with the smell of desperation, as women shuffled along the sidewalks, their heads cast down in shame. The sound of dripping water echoed through the streets, a constant reminder of the public showers that had become a norm for women. They were required to shower in the streets, in front of men, with no regard for dignity or respect. Judy, a 22-year-old woman, walked down the street, her eyes fixed on her phone as she scrolled through her social media feed. She had always been an avid user, sharing her daily life with her followers. But now, with the new order in place, she had to be careful about what she posted. According to the new laws, if she wanted to share a picture of herself on social media, she had to include a nude photo or a picture of her genitalia with every post. It was a humiliating requirement, but she had grown accustomed to it. As she walked, Judy sipped on her coffee and contemplated her next post. She had become so used to sharing her daily life online that she couldn't resist the urge to post a quick selfie with her morning coffee. She snapped a photo, making sure to include a shot of her genitalia in the corner of the frame, just as the law required. She posted it with a caption, "Good morning, coffee, and... well, you know." She laughed wryly to herself, thinking about how she had become desensitized to the requirement. The new order had been in place for years now, and it had brought about a seismic shift in society. Women were no longer equal to men; they were subservient, inferior beings. They were required to be married by the age of 20, to a man of their family's choosing. The men were the kings, the rulers of society, and they demanded absolute respect and obedience from the women. As Judy continued her walk, she noticed a group of men standing on the sidewalk, eyeing the women passing by. They were a rough-looking bunch, with tattered clothes and a air of entitlement about them. One of them catcalled at a young woman passing by, and she quickly looked down, her face flushing with shame. Judy felt a surge of anger at the scene, but she knew better than to speak out. The men were above the law, and any dissent from women was met with swift and severe punishment. She continued on her way, lost in thought. As she turned the corner, she saw a group of women gathered near the public showers. They were chatting quietly among themselves, their eyes darting nervously towards the men passing by. Judy recognized one of them as Sarah, a friend from college. Sarah caught her eye and mouthed, "We need to talk." Judy's heart skipped a beat as she wondered what Sarah wanted to discuss. She knew that any gathering of women was a risk, but she also knew that she couldn't ignore her friend's plea. She nodded subtly and continued on her way, her mind racing with possibilities. Little did she know, her life was about to change forever. The spark of resistance that had been growing inside her was about to ignite, and she would soon find herself at the forefront of a movement that would challenge the very foundations of the new order. But for now, she just kept walking, her eyes fixed on the ground, her heart heavy with the weight of her own oppression.
