A Moment of Tender Connection
Part 3
Shizuo's eyes lit up as he took another bite of his meal. "This food is delicious," he said happily, his deep voice filled with genuine enthusiasm. Vanitas smiled and picked up his fork, spearing a piece of food with a tender look on his face. "Try this if you want," Vanitas said, his eyes sparkling with amusement. Shizuo's heart skipped a beat as he looked at the fork, his pulse racing with excitement. "No one has ever fed me before," Shizuo thought, his cheeks burning with a deep flush. Vanitas held out the fork, and Shizuo hesitantly opened his mouth, accepting the food with a shy smile. As he chewed, Vanitas smiled and reached out, his fingers brushing against Shizuo's lips. "You had a bit of sauce there," Vanitas said, his voice low and soothing. Shizuo's eyes met Vanitas', and he felt his face heat up even more. "Someone is finally nice to me and sees me as beautiful," Shizuo thought, his heart racing with emotion. He looked away, trying to compose himself, but Vanitas just chuckled and continued eating. As they finished their meal, Vanitas discreetly signaled the waiter and paid the bill, leaving a generous tip in the process. Shizuo raised an eyebrow, impressed by Vanitas's kindness. "You're very kind to strangers, aren't you?" Shizuo asked, his voice filled with curiosity. Vanitas smiled and reached out, taking Shizuo's hands in his. "I think it's always nice to be kind to those who appreciate it," he said, his eyes sparkling with warmth. "Now, where do you want to go next, pretty? Want to watch the sunset?" Shizuo's heart skipped a beat at the term of endearment, and he felt a rush of excitement at the prospect of spending more time with Vanitas. "I...I don't know," Shizuo stammered, his eyes searching Vanitas's face. "What do you suggest?" Vanitas chuckled and stood up, pulling Shizuo to his feet. "Well, there's a beautiful park not far from here with a great view of the city. We could take a walk and enjoy the sunset together." Shizuo nodded, feeling a sense of wonder at the prospect of exploring the city with Vanitas. As they walked out of the restaurant, Vanitas turned to him with a smile. "I'm glad you're enjoying yourself, Shizuo. You're a lovely companion." Shizuo's face heated up at the compliment, and he looked away, trying to hide his blush. But Vanitas just laughed and took his hand, leading him into the evening, with the promise of a beautiful sunset and maybe, just maybe, something more.
