Revelations and Reckonings

Part 3

The group reconvened in the living room, still trying to process the bombshell that Jason had just dropped. Max called the meeting to order, his voice firm but controlled. "Alright, let's talk about this. We need to figure out what to do next." The others nodded, still looking like they were in shock. Silky spoke up first, his voice barely above a whisper. "I'm so sorry, guys. I had no idea. I feel like I've let you all down." Rage shook his head, his face still twisted in anger. "This isn't your fault, Silky. This is on whoever did this." Adapt nodded in agreement. "We need to find out who it was. We need to make them pay." Lacy looked like he was still on the verge of tears. "But how? We don't even know who it is or how they got in." Max rubbed his temples, trying to ward off a headache. "We'll figure it out. We just need to think this through. Did Jason give you any clues?" The others thought back to Jason's conversation with Ron, trying to remember if he had mentioned anything that might be relevant. Ron's expression was thoughtful. "He mentioned something about a conversation he had with the person. He said they were trying to get close to him, to gain his trust." Silky's eyes widened. "That's what I remember now. He said something about someone being overly friendly, trying to get in his good graces." The group started brainstorming, throwing out ideas and theories. As they talked, they began to piece together a timeline of events. They discovered that several people had been acting suspiciously around Jason in the days leading up to the revelation. As the night wore on, the group's anger and sadness began to give way to determination. They were going to find out who had done this to Jason, and they were going to make them pay. Max stood up, his eyes scanning the room. "Alright, here's what we're going to do. We'll start by reviewing the security footage. We'll talk to anyone who might have seen or heard something. And we'll keep this to ourselves, for now." The others nodded, a sense of purpose settling over them. As they began to disperse, Lacy spoke up. "What about Jason? We can't just leave him alone." Ron nodded. "I'll stay with him. I'll make sure he's okay." As the others filed out of the room, Max caught Silky's eye. "We need to talk," he said, his voice low. Silky nodded, following Max to the kitchen. As they stood there, Max turned to him. "I think we need to consider the possibility that this goes deeper than just one person. I think we might be dealing with something bigger than that." Silky's eyes widened, his face pale. "What do you mean?" Max's expression was grim. "I mean that we might be dealing with a mole. Someone who's been playing us all along."
