Chapter 9: Trapped
Part 9
The words still lingered in the air, Kaelith's declaration of ownership echoing off the walls as he turned and walked out of the room, leaving Mori feeling helpless and trapped. She lay there for a moment, her mind reeling with the events that had just transpired, as she struggled to come to terms with the fact that she was indeed bound to Kaelith, at least for now. As she listened to the sound of Kaelith's footsteps fading into the distance, Mori's gaze drifted to the door, her heart sinking as she realized that she was alone. She tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over her, forcing her back onto the pillow. Her body ached, her mouth still sore from Kaelith's brutal use of her. With a surge of adrenaline, Mori threw off the covers and swung her legs over the side of the bed, her feet dangling in the air as she assessed her situation. She was trapped, with no clear way out. Kaelith had locked the door on his way out, and she had no idea where he had hidden the key. Panic set in as Mori scrambled out of bed, her eyes scanning the room frantically for any sign of escape. But there was none. The windows were locked, the curtains drawn, and the door was impenetrable. She was a prisoner, with no way out. Mori's gaze fell on the dresser, her eyes locking onto the mirror that hung on the wall above it. She approached it cautiously, her reflection staring back at her like a stranger. Her eyes were red-rimmed, her hair disheveled, and her skin pale. She looked like a woman who had been through a war, and in a way, she had. As she gazed at her reflection, Mori felt a spark of determination ignite within her. She would not give up. She would find a way out of this, no matter what it took. She would escape, and she would make Kaelith pay for what he had done to her. But for now, she was trapped, alone and vulnerable in a room that seemed to closing in around her. Mori's eyes narrowed, her jaw setting in a determined line as she began to think of a plan, a way to escape and take control of her life back from the man who had taken it from her.
