**Chapter 4: Echoes of Terror**

Part 4

The sound of sirens grew louder, and the two robbers suddenly sprang into action. They quickly pulled their clothes back on, their movements frantic as they scrambled to escape. The second robber yanked Maya's hair once more, his grip tightening as he dragged her off the bed. Maya cried out in pain, her body trembling as she stumbled after him. The first robber grabbed a handful of her clothes, shoving them into a duffel bag as they hastily made their way out of the motel room. As they emerged into the night air, the sound of sirens was almost deafening. The robbers exchanged a look, their eyes gleaming with a mixture of fear and adrenaline. They quickly took off, disappearing into the darkness as they fled the scene. Maya stumbled along beside them, her eyes fixed on the ground as she tried to make sense of what was happening. She was in shock, her mind reeling from the trauma of the past few hours. As they turned a corner, the robbers suddenly stopped, their heads cocked to one side as they listened to the sound of the sirens. The first robber grinned, his eyes glinting with amusement. "They're closing in," he whispered, his voice dripping with malice. "We need to get out of here, now." The second robber nodded, his grip on Maya's hair tightening as he pulled her along. They took off again, their footsteps echoing through the night as they vanished into the darkness. As they fled, the first robber turned to the second, a sly smile spreading across his face. "We'll play with her again," he whispered, his voice dripping with menace. "And next time, it won't just be about sex. We'll make her suffer, make her beg for mercy." The second robber chuckled, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "I've got a few ideas already," he said, his voice low and menacing. "We'll make her wish she'd never been born." Maya's heart sank, her mind recoiling in horror at the thought of what was to come. She knew she had to escape, but for now, she was trapped, at the mercy of two men who seemed to take pleasure in her pain. As the sirens grew fainter, the robbers disappeared into the night, their vow to "play" with Maya again hanging in the air like a threat. Maya's world had shrunk to a single, terrifying thought: she was far from safe, and her nightmare was far from over.
