**Chapter 1: Betrayal by the Poolside**

Part 1

The warm sun beat down on the luxurious backyard of Sabrina Carpenter's lavish mansion, casting a golden glow over the sparkling pool. Nick Robinson and Maya Hart, Sabrina's girlfriend, lounged by the water's edge, their naked bodies glistening with sunscreen and anticipation. They had snuck out to the pool, eager to make the most of Sabrina's errand to the local store. As they gazed into each other's eyes, the tension between them was palpable. Maya's hands drifted across Nick's chest, her fingers tracing the contours of his muscles. Nick's eyes locked onto hers, his pupils dilating with desire. Without a word, they slid into the cool water, their bodies entwining as they kissed. Their passion was all-consuming, and they surrendered to the moment, their bodies moving in perfect sync. The sound of the water lapping against the pool's edges and the distant hum of the city created a sense of seclusion, making them feel like they were the only two people in the world. Just as they were reaching a crescendo, a car door slammed in the distance. Sabrina was back. Nick and Maya froze, their eyes wide with panic. They quickly disentangled themselves, trying to compose themselves as they heard Sabrina's voice calling out from the house. "Hey guys! I'm back! I got some snacks and—" Nick and Maya exchanged a terrified glance. They knew they were in trouble. As Sabrina approached the pool, her eyes widened in shock at the sight of her girlfriend and Nick, naked and dripping wet. Sabrina's voice trembled with anger and hurt. "What the...?" Nick quickly covered himself, trying to make a hasty exit. "Sabrina, I—" But Sabrina wasn't having it. "No, Nick. Just get out of here. I need to talk to Maya." Nick didn't need to be told twice. He hastily exited the pool, grabbing a towel to wrap around his waist as he beat a hasty retreat. Maya, however, remained frozen in the water, her eyes brimming with tears. Sabrina's gaze locked onto hers, a mix of pain and betrayal etched on her face. The rest of the day was a blur for Maya. Nick avoided her, barely acknowledging her presence as they went about their day. The guilt and shame of being caught with Nick weighed heavily on her, and she couldn't shake the feeling of having let Sabrina down. As the night drew to a close, Maya found herself alone in her room, the memories of the day's events flooding back. She couldn't bear the thought of facing Sabrina, not yet. In a moment of desperation, she reached for the old scars on her wrists, the ones she'd tried to keep hidden. It was a coping mechanism she'd thought she'd left behind, but the pain and anxiety of the day had brought it all back. As she delicately traced the lines on her wrists, tears began to fall. She knew she needed help, but she didn't know where to turn. Sabrina walked into the room, a look of concern etched on her face. "Maya, I've been looking all over for you. We need to talk." Maya's body began to shake, and she felt herself crumbling. Sabrina rushed to her side, enveloping her in a warm hug. "I'm so sorry, Sabrina," Maya sobbed, her body wracked with tears. Sabrina held her close, whispering words of comfort as Maya cried herself to sleep in her arms. But as they held each other, Sabrina couldn't help but wonder what had led Maya to self-harm, and what she could do to help her heal. As the night wore on, Sabrina's mind turned to Nick, and the role he had played in Maya's pain. She knew that things would never be the same again, and that their relationships would never be the same. The question was, what would happen next?
