A Moment of Surrender
Part 3
"A moment of surrender," I whispered to myself as I gazed out at the vast expanse of the ocean. The warm breeze rustled my hair, and I felt Emily's gentle tug on my hand. She wanted me to follow her, to trust her completely. I took a deep breath, feeling a sense of calm wash over me. "Jonathan, I want you to do something for me," she said, her voice low and husky. I looked down at her, my heart racing with anticipation. "Anything," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper. "Babe, can you get on your knees and close your eyes?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with a mischievous glint. I hesitated for a moment, unsure of what she had planned. But something about her tone, something about the way she looked at me, made me trust her completely. I slowly dropped to my knees, feeling the warm sand beneath me. I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath as I waited for her next instruction. "I want you to say a word," she said, her voice soft and gentle. "Just one word. And I want you to keep saying it until I tell you to stop." I nodded, even though she couldn't see me. "What is the word?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. "Say 'faith'," she replied, her voice full of conviction. "Faith," I said, the word tumbling out of my mouth. I waited, my heart pounding in my chest, as I repeated the word over and over again. "Faith, faith, faith," I murmured, feeling a sense of calm wash over me. As I spoke, I felt my worries, my doubts, and my fears slowly drifting away. I felt my heart opening up, expanding with each repetition of the word. I was surrendering, letting go of my need to control, to know what was coming next. "Faith, faith, faith," I continued to say, my voice growing softer, more gentle. And then, I felt Emily's hand on my shoulder, her touch warm and reassuring. "Keep going, Jonathan," she whispered, her breath tickling my ear. "Just keep going."
