A Date to Remember

Part 63

As we walked down the street, Kirishima and I chatted excitedly about the upcoming sports festival, our conversation flowing easily. We didn't notice the others trailing behind us, their eyes fixed on us with varying degrees of curiosity and amusement. Mina, Osby, Tsu, Ochaco, Kaminari, Deku, Todoroki, and Bakugo followed at a distance, trying not to be too obvious as they spied on us. Kirishima and I eventually arrived at a nice restaurant, its exterior gleaming with a warm, inviting glow. We pushed open the door and stepped inside, immediately enveloped in the cozy atmosphere. The aroma of delicious food wafted through the air, making my stomach growl with hunger. We were shown to a table by the window, and Kirishima pulled out my chair for me before taking his seat. I smiled, feeling a little flutter in my chest at his gentlemanly gesture. The waiter came over to take our order, and we spent the next few minutes perusing the menu. Kirishima recommended a few dishes, and we ended up ordering a variety of things to share. As we waited for our food to arrive, Kirishima and I chatted about everything from our favorite foods to our childhood memories. I was surprised by how easy it was to talk to him, how much we had in common. He was charming and witty, with a quick sense of humor that had me laughing in no time. As we sipped our drinks and nibbled on some appetizers, I found myself feeling more and more at ease in Kirishima's presence. He was asking me questions about my Quirk and my experiences at U.A. High School, and I was happy to share my stories with him. But then, just as I was starting to relax, Kirishima's expression turned curious. "Hey, who's Osby by the way, the guy I just met?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with interest. I smiled, feeling a little self-conscious. "Oh, that's my shadow," I replied, trying to downplay Osby's significance. "He's really nice, but can be a little rude sometimes." Kirishima raised an eyebrow, his expression thoughtful. "Your shadow, huh? That's an interesting way to describe him. What's his story?" I hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal about Osby's complicated personality. But before I could respond, our food arrived, and Kirishima suggested we dig in. I gratefully agreed, happy to have a moment to collect my thoughts before continuing our conversation.
