Chapter 20: A Slap in the Face

Part 19

Chapter 20: A Slap in the Face Amane's words hung in the air, and Nene's face immediately flushed a deep shade of crimson. She couldn't believe he would even suggest such a thing, let alone in front of Tsukasa. "Hey, watch it!" she said, her voice stern as she raised her hand to bash him on the head. Amane yelped in mock pain as Nene's palm connected with his skull, but he didn't stop there. "Since Tsukasa took your first kiss, does that mean I get to...you know," he said, his eyes sparkling with mischief. Nene's hand moved swiftly, slapping him again and again. "Stop it, Amane! That's not funny!" she exclaimed, her face burning with embarrassment. Tsukasa burst out laughing, clearly entertained by the exchange. "Amane, you little scamp," he said, shaking his head. But Amane wasn't deterred. He grinned at Nene, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Come on, Nene, don't be like that," he said, dodging her blows. Tsukasa chuckled and decided to intervene, tackling Amane to the ground. "I think we're just going to battle to the death," he said jokingly, pinning his brother down. Amane yelped in mock despair, his arms and legs flailing wildly as he tried to free himself. Nene couldn't help but laugh at the sight, her embarrassment slowly dissipating. As she watched the twins tussle, Nene realized that she was grateful for their carefree nature. They made her feel like she could be herself, without fear of judgment. Finally, Tsukasa managed to subdue Amane, holding him down with a firm hand. "I think you've had enough," he said, grinning at his brother. Amane pouted, his face red from the exertion. "Fine, fine," he said, holding up his hands in defeat. Nene smiled, shaking her head. "You two are impossible," she said, laughing. Tsukasa stood up, pulling Amane to his feet. "That's what makes us lovable," he said, winking at Nene. Amane nodded enthusiastically, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Yeah, and we're not done yet," he said, a sly grin spreading across his face. Nene raised an eyebrow, wondering what other trouble the twins had in store for her. But for now, she was just happy to be with them, enjoying the laughter and the love they shared.
