Chapter 203: Unexpected Interruption

Mina's voice cut through the tense atmosphere, "And that concludes our game!" she exclaimed, a huge grin spreading across her face. The others began to murmur and chuckle, seeming to come back to life after being frozen in shock. Just as I was about to respond to Shindo's declaration, a loud cry pierced the air. "Hey, little fan!" Hawks' voice boomed as he sprinted towards us, his eyes fixed on Shindo. His gaze landed on me, cradled in Shindo's arms, and his expression changed to one of surprise. Shindo's eyes flicked up to meet Hawks', a hint of amusement dancing in their depths. He didn't seem inclined to put me down, and I found myself feeling a bit more at ease in his arms. Hawks reached us in a few strides, his eyes narrowing slightly as he took in the scene. "What's going on here?" he asked, his voice laced with a hint of curiosity. Mina jumped in, excitement radiating from her. "Shindo confessed to Vesper! It's a huge deal!" Hawks' eyes widened, and he let out a low whistle. "Well, well, well. Looks like someone's got a thing for the little fan." Shindo's smile grew, and he tightened his hold on me. "I do," he said, his voice firm. "And I'm not afraid to show it." The others began to close in around us, their faces filled with curiosity and excitement. I felt my blush deepen as I realized I was the center of attention. Hawks, however, seemed to take it all in stride. He grinned at me, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Looks like you're in high demand, little fan," he said, winking at me. I rolled my eyes, trying to play it cool despite the butterflies in my stomach. Shindo, however, simply chuckled and pulled me closer, his eyes never leaving mine.
