The Aftermath of Unspoken Feelings

Part 87

"What is it?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper as Deku took another step closer to me. The room seemed to hold its breath, the tension palpable as everyone waited for his response. Deku's eyes never left mine, his gaze burning with intensity. "We need to know, Vesper," he said, his voice low and serious. "Are you... serious about what you said? About all of us?" I felt my face heat up with embarrassment as I nodded again, feeling like I was trapped in a nightmare. Bakugo snorted, his eyes flashing with skepticism. "This is ridiculous," he muttered, but Todoroki shot him a warning glance. Todoroki's eyes never left mine, his expression a mix of curiosity and concern. "Vesper, can you explain?" he asked, his voice gentle. I took a deep breath, trying to gather my thoughts. "I... I don't know," I admitted, feeling like I was going to collapse. "It just... I care about all of you, in different ways, but... equally, I guess." Kaminari's face lit up with excitement, and he took a step forward. "Whoa, this is crazy!" he exclaimed, but Kirishima elbowed him in the ribs. Kirishima glared at Kaminari. "Not helping, Kacchan," he muttered. Mina, who had been watching the exchange with interest, spoke up. "I think we should hear Vesper out," she said, her voice calm and soothing. The boys nodded, and Deku took another step closer to me. "We're listening," he said, his eyes locked on mine. I took a deep breath, trying to gather my thoughts. "I... I don't know how to explain," I admitted, feeling like I was going to pass out. But Deku's gentle expression encouraged me to continue. "I just... I care about all of you," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "In different ways, but... it's all real." The room fell silent again, and I waited with bated breath for their response. Would they understand? Or would they reject me? Only time would tell.
