"Crossing the Threshold"
Part 34
I took a deep breath and tried to play it cool, typing out a response that would seem casual and nonchalant. "sure why not," I replied, trying to sound like I wasn't on edge. As soon as I hit send, I felt a wave of nervousness wash over me. What had I just gotten myself into? Shinso's response was immediate, and it only served to heighten my anxiety. "tmw @ my place?", he asked, his words sending a shiver down my spine. I felt like I had been punched in the gut, my mind racing with questions. What did he mean by "my place"? Was he inviting me over to his apartment? And what exactly did he have planned? Ochaco and Osby's teasing had died down, and they were now watching me with interest, their eyes sparkling with curiosity. I tried to play it cool, shrugging and pretending like I wasn't freaking out on the inside. But it was no use. They knew me too well, and they could tell that something was up. "Spill the beans, what's going on?" Ochaco asked, her voice low and conspiratorial. I hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. But before I could respond, Osby chimed in, his voice filled with excitement. "Is it Shinso? Are you going to Shinso's place?" I felt my face burning with embarrassment, but I couldn't deny it. Not now, when they had already guessed. "Maybe," I replied, trying to sound casual. But Ochaco and Osby were having none of it. They bombarded me with questions, their voices rising in excitement. I tried to deflect their attention, but it was no use. They knew that something was up, and they were determined to get to the bottom of it. As we stood there, the tension was palpable. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, and my mind was racing with questions. What was I getting myself into? And what exactly did Shinso have planned? The only thing I knew for sure was that my life was about to change in ways I couldn't even imagine. And as I stood there, frozen in anticipation, I couldn't help but wonder what the future held.
