A Night of Unexpected Plans

Part 219

As I stood there, lost in thought, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned to see Kirishima standing beside me, a flustered look still plastered on his face. "You want to go on the date I promised you?" he asked, his voice laced with uncertainty. I raised an eyebrow, taken aback by the question. "Uh, yeah, sure," I replied, trying to play it cool. Kirishima's face lit up with relief, and he let out a nervous chuckle. "Okay, good," he said, before turning to call out to someone. "Vesper, let's go!" I followed his gaze to see a girl with striking features and piercing eyes walking towards us. She was even more beautiful up close, and I couldn't help but feel a little intimidated. Kirishima, on the other hand, seemed completely smitten. As Vesper approached us, Kirishima gestured to me. "This is... um, my friend," he said, before turning to me. "You know, I was thinking we could go to the arcade tonight. It's not too late, and I heard they have some new games out." I shrugged, intrigued by the suggestion. "Sounds like fun," I said, and Vesper smiled, her eyes sparkling with interest. "Okay, then," Kirishima said, looking relieved. "Let's go." We set off towards the arcade, the three of us walking in comfortable silence. As we walked, I couldn't help but steal glances at Vesper, trying to get a read on her. She seemed quiet and reserved, but there was something about her that drew me in. As we approached the arcade, the sounds of laughter and music grew louder, and I could feel my excitement building. I had no idea what the night had in store for us, but I was eager to find out. As we entered the arcade, Kirishima turned to me with a grin. "So, what do you want to do first?" he asked, his eyes scanning the rows of games. I shrugged, feeling a little out of my depth. "What do you recommend?" I asked, and Vesper spoke up, her voice smooth and confident. "Let's play some classic games," she said, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "I challenge you to a game of air hockey." Kirishima and I exchanged a look, and then grinned at each other. "Game on," he said, and we set off to find the air hockey table, ready to see who would come out on top.
