A New Chapter Unfolds

Part 15

The sun was shining brightly on the day of Ethan's graduation, casting a warm glow over the crowded auditorium. Ethan's family and friends were beaming with pride as he walked across the stage to receive his diploma. His father, beaming with pride, shook his hand and congratulated him, "I'm so proud of you, son. You've worked hard to get to this point." As Ethan made his way back to his seat, his friends surrounded him, patting him on the back and congratulating him. "Dude, you did it! Now let's celebrate!" one of them exclaimed. Ethan's father chimed in, "We'll throw a party tonight, and invite all our friends and family. It'll be a night to remember!" But Ethan had other plans. He excused himself, saying he needed to make a phone call, and quickly made his way out of the auditorium. He hailed a taxi and headed back to the apartment he shared with Lyra. As he entered the apartment, he was greeted by the sight of Lyra packing up their belongings. "Hey, I thought you'd be at the graduation ceremony," Lyra said, looking up from the box she was packing. "I was," Ethan replied, "but I had to get out of there. I couldn't celebrate without you." He walked over to her, his eyes locked on hers. Lyra's hands stilled, and she looked up at him, a questioning expression on her face. Ethan took a deep breath, his heart racing with excitement. He had been waiting for this moment for what felt like an eternity. "Lyra, from the moment I met you, I knew that you were special. You've been my rock, my best friend, my everything. I want to take our relationship to the next level. I want you to be my lover." Lyra's eyes widened, and she looked at him like she was seeing him for the first time. Ethan's heart skipped a beat as he waited for her response. He could see the surprise and curiosity in her eyes, and he knew that he had to be honest with her. "I love you, Lyra," he said, his voice low and husky. "I want to spend the rest of my life making you happy. Will you be my lover?" He asked, his voice trembling with emotion. Lyra's face was a picture of conflicting emotions, but as she looked at Ethan, he could see the love and adoration shining through. She took a deep breath, and a slow smile spread across her face. "Yes, Ethan," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'd love to be your lover."
